Nonprofit Leader Experiences In Sector-Bending After Lean Six Sigma Training: Tension, Concepts, And Changed Behaviors, Beverly Codallos
Nonprofit Leader Experiences In Sector-Bending After Lean Six Sigma Training: Tension, Concepts, And Changed Behaviors, Beverly Codallos
Dissertations
Government, business, and nonprofit represent three distinct types of organizations governed by different legal frameworks designed to facilitate collective action (DiMaggio & Anheier, 1990). The emergence of hybrid forms and increasing isomorphic pressures in the nonprofit sector (Bromley & Meyer, 2017; McCambridge, 2014) have challenged the traditional separation of organizational forms. This study explored the phenomenon popularized as sector-bending, “a wide variety of approaches, activities, and relationships that are blurring the distinctions between nonprofit and for-profit organizations, either because they are behaving more similarly, operating in the same realms, or both” (Dees & Anderson, 2003, pg. 16). This qualitative study …
Residential Solar Options In Karachi: Comparative Analysis And Decision Factors, Umair Aslam, Sajid Ali Sheikh, Muhammad Hamid
Residential Solar Options In Karachi: Comparative Analysis And Decision Factors, Umair Aslam, Sajid Ali Sheikh, Muhammad Hamid
Executive MBA Research Projects
The purpose of this research is to identify the factors driving the decision of potential customers in installing a solar power system in Karachi. Pakistan is currently facing an energy crisis along with economic instability leading to highest inflation rates of all times. Subsequently, the people are looking at alternatives to mitigate the inflation effects and reduce the dependency on the electricity grid, which is not only expensive but also unreliable. Solar power system is an alternative that is highly popular and has the potential to resolve these issues.
The research used interviews to collect data from customers who had …
Development Of Unconventional Gas Potential In Pakistan, Zaeem Hassan Khan, Qazi Ismail Ahmed
Development Of Unconventional Gas Potential In Pakistan, Zaeem Hassan Khan, Qazi Ismail Ahmed
Executive MBA Research Projects
The study explores the prospects of the unconventional gas plays with a focus on Southern Pakistan region to present a rational context for enhancing the local supply of gas in the country. This will contribute to the national objective of achieving economic security in the energy sector through development of local industry. The country is gifted with over 100 TCF of unconventional reserves in the Lower Indus Basin. The development of these resources will provide gas to local supply and will reduce the dependency on imported LNG. However, the development of such resources has been facing strategic myopia, along with …
The Effect Of Behavioral Traits And Background On Engineering Students’ Decision-Making Process Compared To Business Students, Joe Scott
Williams Honors College, Honors Research Projects
This paper looks to narrow down the reasons that students undertake new credentials, specifically in sales fields. With a focus on character traits and upbringing, the goal is to ensure that there is a better understanding of the reasons that people undertake these credentials. The different benefits of credentials will be analyzed to determine the most influential reason that people would be willing to move forward. The combination of these factors will be used to provide recommendations of the best way to reach and influence the decision of the engineering students.
Improving Cooling Tower Chemistry Control And Cost Savings Through Automation, Ryan Matthew Maxwell
Improving Cooling Tower Chemistry Control And Cost Savings Through Automation, Ryan Matthew Maxwell
Theses and Dissertations
Proper chemistry control of cooling towers reduces corrosion, biological growth, and precipitation of solids. Therefore, improving control can lead to increased equipment life, operating efficiency, and safety. Chemistry of cooling towers is highly dependent on loading, weather, and time. As such, cooling tower chemistry varies day to day and even hour to hour, requiring either continuous controls or large operating bands. Through automation, 24/7 monitoring and control can be achieved, allowing for deliberate operation within tight operating bands. As a direct result of automation water consumption has been reduced by 9.1 million gallons per year, CL-49 use has been reduced …
Life-Cycle Analysis Of A Cement Manufacturing Plant Co-Firing Hazardous Waste In The Usa, Stephen P. Holt
Life-Cycle Analysis Of A Cement Manufacturing Plant Co-Firing Hazardous Waste In The Usa, Stephen P. Holt
Theses and Dissertations
The purpose of this work was to determine the overall environmental impacts associated with the co-firing hazardous waste by burning in a cement kiln to replace the use of coal in the cement manufacturing process. This environmental assessment was conducted using LCA methodology. Understanding the environmental impacts associated with burning hazardous waste in a cement factory could help shape national environmental policy, regulations and the need for site specific human health risk assessments in the environmental regulatory permitting processes. Accordingly, the primary objective of this study was to evaluate the environmental impacts from the hazardous waste burning for energy recovery …
