Design And Analysis Of Automatic Car Park System With Capacity Control, Musa Mohammed Gujja, Umar Abubakar Wakta Aug 2015

Design And Analysis Of Automatic Car Park System With Capacity Control, Musa Mohammed Gujja, Umar Abubakar Wakta

Innovative Research Publications IRP India

The need for an automatic car park gate system has been in increase in recent times following the economic situation in present days. The circuit is aimed at eliminating manual operation of a car park. It incorporate the use of LM741 op-amp and CD4017 decade counter for controlling the number of vehicle that can have access to the parking premises and the circuit is fixed close to the gate with the sensor tragically located where it can sense the presence of a car. The light dependent resistor (LDR) senses both entrance and exit of the cars and this followed the …

Autonomous Navigation And Control Of Unmanned Aerial Systems In The National Airspace, Michael Hlas, Jeremy Straub, Eunjin Kim Apr 2015

Autonomous Navigation And Control Of Unmanned Aerial Systems In The National Airspace, Michael Hlas, Jeremy Straub, Eunjin Kim

Jeremy Straub

Pilotless aircraft known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have been used extensively for military and intelligence purposes. This includes situations where the mission area is too dangerous for a pilot to fly, the length of the mission is longer than a pilot could stay awake or aircraft are used as cruise missiles that crash into their target. With the decreasing cost and miniaturization of computers, it has become possible to build UAVs that are small and inexpensive making them accessible to businesses, law enforcement, hobbyists and the general public.

Control Of Photovoltaic Water Pumping System, Chafia Serir Jr, Djamila Rekioua Pr Jan 2015

Control Of Photovoltaic Water Pumping System, Chafia Serir Jr, Djamila Rekioua Pr

REKIOUA Djamila Dr

Due to the continuous decrease of the solar cells cost, photovoltaic energy is used in different applications. The most important one is the water pumping system powered by photovoltaic generators. These systems can work with or without storage battery. With the increased use of this application, more attention has been paid to their optimum utilization. Many methods have been developed to determine the maximum power point (MPP). In this paper, to control the DC bus voltage, we apply field oriented control (FOC) strategy to induction motor (IM) supply by a photovoltaic (PV) system. And to maximize the efficiency of the …

Effect Of Using Adjusted Parameters, Local And Global Optimums, For Phase Equilibrium Prediction On The Synthesis Of Azeotropic Distillation Columns, Claudia Gutierrez-Antonio, Andrea Ojeda-Gasca, Adrian Bonilla-Petriciolet, Juan Gabriel Segovia-Hernández, Abel Briones-Ramírez Jan 2014

Effect Of Using Adjusted Parameters, Local And Global Optimums, For Phase Equilibrium Prediction On The Synthesis Of Azeotropic Distillation Columns, Claudia Gutierrez-Antonio, Andrea Ojeda-Gasca, Adrian Bonilla-Petriciolet, Juan Gabriel Segovia-Hernández, Abel Briones-Ramírez

Adrian Bonilla-Petriciolet

We analyze the effect of using adjusted parameters, corresponding to local and global optimums, in the NRTL thermodynamic model on the complete process synthesis (design, optimization and control) of homogeneous azeotropic distillation columns. The adjusted parameters that corresponding to a global optimum were obtained with simulated annealing technique, while the adjusted parameters that corresponding to a local optimum were taken from Dechema Collection. Both sets of parameters were used to design a conventional sequence, a side-stream column and a Petlyuk sequence. These designs were used as initial solution to a multiobjective genetic algorithm with constraints handling, coupled to a processes …

A Control System For Space Solar Power, Jeremy Straub Nov 2013

A Control System For Space Solar Power, Jeremy Straub

Jeremy Straub

This poster presents an algorithm for the implementation of a control system that accepts power requests and makes distribution assignments to maximize the performance of the overall space solar power (SSP) system and meet service level agreements (SLAs). This complex process involves projecting service-customer demand into the future, projecting power availability on each servicing spacecraft and implementing corrective measures should actual craft performance not meet with planning expectations. The control system is implemented as a planning problem with some deterministic elements (craft position and generation) and some probabilistically predicted elements (interference, drag and malfunctions). A heuristic solver is proposed that …

Possible Applications Of Neural Nets To Power System Operation And Control, P. K. Kalra, Alok Srivastava, D. K. Chaturvedi Dec 1992

Possible Applications Of Neural Nets To Power System Operation And Control, P. K. Kalra, Alok Srivastava, D. K. Chaturvedi

D. K. Chaturvedi Dr.

Problems related to power system operation and control are complex and time consuming because of the non-linearities involved in their formulation and solution. Fast solutions to these problems can be obtained only through parallel processing. Neural nets provide massive parallel processing facilities and may also be used efficiently to model systems with non-linearities. The capabilities of neural nets can, therefore, be well utilized in modelling and processing problems related to power systems. In order to reduce the burden on computers, algorithms involving optimization and complex equations can be converted to heuristics. These heuristics can then be represented in terms of …
