Physical And Chemical Studies Of Overroof Rocks Of Clay Shales Of The Dzherdanak Deposit, Mastura Aripova, Ivan Levitskiy, Khabiba Khamidova, Odelbek Ammanov

CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

The purpose of this study is study of the physical and chemical properties of the overburden of the Dzherdanak deposit. The chemical and mineralogical composition of the overburden of the Djerdanak deposit has been studied by the methods of X-ray and thermography, electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. The main phases are quartz, kaolinite and muscovite. The study of the fine structure of the rock under an electron microscope showed the homogeneity of the rock with pronounced uniform inclusions, which is preserved even after firing. Changes in the rock after firing at 1050 °C have been determined. The formation of mullite …

Optimization Of Chemical Compositions Of Al-Si-Cu-Ni-Sr Alloys With High Strengths And Electrical Conductivities, Yuxian Li Oct 2021

Optimization Of Chemical Compositions Of Al-Si-Cu-Ni-Sr Alloys With High Strengths And Electrical Conductivities, Yuxian Li

Electronic Theses and Dissertations

Mechanical strengths and electrical conductivity are the very important engineering properties of lightweight metallic materials used in the automotive industry, especially for battery-powered electric vehicles (BEV). However, the main issue is that high strength and high electrical conductivity are mutually exclusive due to physical nature of these properties. The aim of this study is to develop new cast aluminum alloys for the production of rotor bar in the rotor with high as-cast strength and electrical conductivity. A design of experiment (DOE) technique, Taguchi method, was used to develop high as-cast strength and electrical conductivity alloys with various element addition of …

A Practical Anodic And Cathodic Curve Intersection Model To Understand Multiple Corrosion Potentials Of Fe-Based Glassy Alloys In Oh-Contained Solutions, Yingjie Li, Yonggang Wang, Bang An, Hui Xu, Yihua Liu, Laichang Zhang, Houyi Ma, Weimin Wang Jan 2016

A Practical Anodic And Cathodic Curve Intersection Model To Understand Multiple Corrosion Potentials Of Fe-Based Glassy Alloys In Oh-Contained Solutions, Yingjie Li, Yonggang Wang, Bang An, Hui Xu, Yihua Liu, Laichang Zhang, Houyi Ma, Weimin Wang

Research outputs 2014 to 2021

A practical anodic and cathodic curve intersection model, which consisted of an apparent anodic curve and an imaginary cathodic line, was proposed to explain multiple corrosion potentials occurred in potentiodynamic polarization curves of Fe-based glassy alloys in alkaline solution. The apparent anodic curve was selected from the measured anodic curves. The imaginary cathodic line was obtained by linearly fitting the differences of anodic curves and can be moved evenly or rotated to predict the number and value of corrosion potentials. © 2016 Li et al. Agronomic Benefits Of Durian Shell Biochar, N Prakongkep, R J. Gilkes, W Wiriyakitnateekul Jul 2014

Agronomic Benefits Of Durian Shell Biochar, N Prakongkep, R J. Gilkes, W Wiriyakitnateekul

Journal of Metals, Materials and Minerals

This study investigated the chemical properties of durian shell biochar which is used as a soil amendment. It can act as a carbon sink and as a means to improve crop yield. Plant nutrient elements in this biochar are in crystalline minerals located within the complex pore structure therefore biochar production from wastes could be a very good way to reduce demand for fertilizers. XRD and SEM-EDS results demonstrate that the numerous minerals in biochar are highly soluble, such as archerite (KH2PO4), chlorocalcite (KCaCl3), kalicinite (KHCO3), and sylvite (KCl) with small amounts …

Thermotropic Phase Boundaries In Classic Ferroelectrics, Tom T. A. Lummen, Yijia Gu, Jianjun Wang Jan 2014

Thermotropic Phase Boundaries In Classic Ferroelectrics, Tom T. A. Lummen, Yijia Gu, Jianjun Wang

Materials Science and Engineering Faculty Research & Creative Works

High-performance piezoelectrics are lead-based solid solutions that exhibit a so-called morphotropic phase boundary, which separates two competing phases as a function of chemical composition; as a consequence, an intermediate low-symmetry phase with a strong piezoelectric effect arises. In search for environmentally sustainable lead-free alternatives that exhibit analogous characteristics, we use a network of competing domains to create similar conditions across thermal inter-ferroelectric transitions in simple, lead-free ferroelectrics such as BaTiO3 and KNbO3. Here we report the experimental observation of thermotropic phase boundaries in these classic ferroelectrics, through direct imaging of low-symmetry intermediate phases that exhibit large enhancements …
