Heat assisted magnetic recording is an advanced technology which can enable storage density increase in next generation hard disk drive. These drives are implemental in server (cloud) storage and the storage of large projects such as the Event Horizon Telescope which recently captured images of a black hole. The data is written on the magnetic surface by means of laser heating. The coercivity of magnetic medium is reduced by heating surface and within heating period data is written on disk.
