Electronic Theses and Dissertations

This dissertation is serving multiple transdisciplinary top-notch material design and technological topics. It is a proof of concept of the feasibility of 3D printing using Magnesium Oxysulfate (MOS) binder as an alternative to the ordinary Portland cement (OPC) to be utilized in terrestrial and extraterrestrial additive construction (AC) fields. MOS paste and mortar are characterized physically, chemically, and mechanically. The characterization results conducted in this research show how MOS’s properties can be controlled to match the 3D printing requirements by manipulating the MOS’s ingredients proportions.
