The blade in the tillage operation has the most interaction with soil particles. It causes the wear and tear of this piece and reduces its expected life span. Tillage tool wear is of great importance to farmers in terms of economic aspects, reduced quality tillage operations, and increased power consumption. The aim of this study is to investigate wearing of five materials including st37 steel (SST37) plate, galvanized steel (GAS), and fiberglass (GFRP), and two coatings (i.e., titanium nano-nitride (nano-TiN) and tantalum carbide (nano-TaC)) by sputtering in the plasma medium of the layer based on conventional steel. These pieces were …

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the tractor speed on the tractors’ seat vibration and to assess the level of comfort of the driver during the agricultural operation using moldboard and disc plows. Experiments were conducted on sandy loamy soil in a factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design with three replications. The effect of the type of tillage implement using the moldboard and disc plows, the velocity of advance in four levels of 4.5, 6 and 8.8 km/h and vibration was measured and evaluated at three directions of longitudinal (x), lateral (y) and …

Todays, maintaining atmospheric health is one of the most important prerequisites for sustainable global economic development, and the international community has no choice but to switch to renewable energies, including solar energy. The goal of the study was to provide a temperature of 60 ° C for drying summer fruits such as apricots therefore we investigated the effect of temperature control systems on the solar-electrical collector performance. Three LM35 temperature sensors were placed at 3 points of the collector (before the air inlet to the collector, after the air outlet from the collector and after heating elements) that were linked …

The objective of this study is to assess the quality of the dewatered groundwater and identify its suitability for irrigation purposes in an urban study area by analyzing its chemical composition. The water quality for irrigation has been assessed by the determination of the residual sodium bicarbonate (RSBC), potential salinity (P.S), sodium adsorption ration, (SAR), Mg ratio (MgR), sodium percentage (%Na+), Kelly’s ratio (KR), permeability index (P.I), electrical conductivity, EC, total dissolved solids TDS, total hardness (TH), and pH. The WATEQ4F computer program has been used to compute the saturation indices of some minerals with respect to water …
Daylight Illuminance In Classrooms Adjacent To Covered And Uncovered Courtyards Under The Clear Sky Of Najran City, Saudi Arabia, Abdultawab M. Qahtan
Daylight Illuminance In Classrooms Adjacent To Covered And Uncovered Courtyards Under The Clear Sky Of Najran City, Saudi Arabia, Abdultawab M. Qahtan
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
Daylight penetrating the classrooms makes students efficient, improves overall health and increases energy efficiency. In the hot regions, the concept of courtyards in buildings is deeply linked to the architecture as a sustainable solution to daylight indoors without negatively affecting the building cooling loads in the summer. Najran University has existing courtyards in college buildings. Recently, the university covered the courtyards using PVC canvas. This study aims to investigate and compare the daylight illuminance in classrooms adjacent to covered and uncovered courtyards. A case study of four classrooms in the College of Engineering was investigated under the clear sky of …

Various studies had covered a number of major areas and sectors (Mehalla) in Basrah describing its major roads building methods and characteristics of traditional and contemporary buildings. They also cover the rivers passing through the city and the canals where bridge from a strong link between the parts. These rivers and canals formed a significant element in the city formation. These studies did not cover the visual impact of these bridges nor have documented evidence about their attributes and significance on the whole city especially. This study tries to through the period 1870 – 1958 this study tries to fill …
Safety Standards Must Be Met For Fire Fighting In Educational Workshops In Industrial Secondary Schools In The Arab Republic Of Egypt, Ibrahim Mahmoud Hassan, Wael Ahmed Rady, Walid Mahmoud El-Nahas
Safety Standards Must Be Met For Fire Fighting In Educational Workshops In Industrial Secondary Schools In The Arab Republic Of Egypt, Ibrahim Mahmoud Hassan, Wael Ahmed Rady, Walid Mahmoud El-Nahas
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
The aim of the research is to establish safety standards for fire fighting within educational workshops in industrial secondary schools to determine the structural requirements for designing workshops in educational buildings and meet international standards. To achieve this a questionnaire was made and data collected for analysis and hypothesis testing using the statistical package of social Sciences (SPSS). Through the adoption of a number of different statistical methods and after conducting the analysis of research data and testing its hypotheses find a number of results, most importantly that the standards conform to international and local standards . The results also …
Choosing The Proper Material To Optimize The Front Axle Of The Tractor Mf285 Using Finite Element, Razieh Pourdarbani, Javad Tarighi
Choosing The Proper Material To Optimize The Front Axle Of The Tractor Mf285 Using Finite Element, Razieh Pourdarbani, Javad Tarighi
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
The tractor axle must have sufficient mechanical strength due to its dynamic and static forces during operation. Before fabrication, mechanical strength can be checked by selecting different materials through engineering software to select the most suitable material. In this paper, three types of material, namely St37, Cm45 and St52 were proposed in order to optimize the front axle of tractor MF285. The mechanical strength of each material was investigated by engineering software. Solid Work software was used for the analysis of 3D modeling of the axle and ANSYS software was used for finite element analysis. In the maximum static loading …

Hermite Wavelet Approach To Estimate Solution For Bratu´S Problem, Bushra Issa Khashem
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
In this paper, the construction of hermit wavelets function and their operational matrix of integration is presented. The matrix together with the collection method are then utilized to transform the differential equations to a system of algebraic equation. Avery high level of accuracy explicitly reflected by the proposed examples.
Failure Mode Identification Of Masonry Infilled Rc Frames, Rabab Allouzi, Ayhan Irfanoglu
Failure Mode Identification Of Masonry Infilled Rc Frames, Rabab Allouzi, Ayhan Irfanoglu
Emirates Journal for Engineering Research
This paper presents a new method to identify the ultimate failure mode of reinforced concrete (RC) frames due to the presence of masonry infill walls. The proposed method is based on simple geometry, reinforcement ratios and material properties of the elements involved in the frame-wall assembly. A simple engineering tool, expressed in terms of infill wall-to-RC frame stiffness and strength ratios, is developed to estimate whether the ultimate failure mode that would evolve during strong earthquake ground shaking in the infilled RC frame is brittle or ductile. The brittle failure mode, that is, shear failure in columns, should be avoided …
