Preparation And Characterization Of Self-Supporting Flexible Nitrogen-Doped Carbon Fabric Electrodes, Bo Yang, Zhi-Hang Jin, Ya-Ping Zhao, Zai-Sheng Cai

Journal of Electrochemistry

With the wide applications of intelligent wearable devices in various fields, developing a new generation of flexible energy storage devices has become a major challenge for the current technology. As a wide application of wearable flexible substrate, cotton fabric has the advantages over low price, non-toxic and environmental friendly, but the poor conductivity becomes a major problem limiting its development. As a nitrogen-containing conducting polymer, polypyrrole is traditionally used as electrode materials, but poor mechanical performance and cycle stability severely limit its application in electrode materials. In this article, a self-supporting flexible nitrogen-doped carbon fabric electrode was prepared by in …

Electric Upgrades - Supercapacitor Electric Bicycle, John Chen, Wilson Fletcher, Spencer Esparza Jun 2018

Electric Upgrades - Supercapacitor Electric Bicycle, John Chen, Wilson Fletcher, Spencer Esparza

Electrical Engineering

Supercapacitors provide high current capabilities compared to conventional lithium-ion batteries, allowing for fast charging and discharging of electrical energy. This project seeks to test the benefits of supercapacitors in an electric bicycle unit in order to gain higher regenerative energy. The main components of the bicycle are its regenerative motor, supercapacitor array, and motor controller. Developing the project will provide data on the feasibility of using alternative battery storage and charging.

Fabrication And Characterization Of Graphene Based 2d Materials For Supercapacitors, Anishkumar Manoharan May 2018

Fabrication And Characterization Of Graphene Based 2d Materials For Supercapacitors, Anishkumar Manoharan

Graduate Theses and Dissertations

Supercapacitors have attracted a lot attention due to their efficient energy storage. In comparison to batteries, supercapacitors have high capacitance, energy, and power densities per unit mass than conventional capacitors. Carbon based materials are most promising in supercapacitor application due to their outstanding physical and electrochemical behavior. In this work, a facile method to synthesize a nanocomposite electrode consisting of annealed carbon from carbon ink and MoS2 was demonstrated. Effects of various aqueous and solid electrolytes were studied. It was found that the nanocomposite electrode with 10% MoS2 and 1M Na2SO4 as the aqueous electrolyte tested using the three electrode …

Preparation And Properties Of Manganese Oxide And Polyaniline-Carbon Composite Electrode, Tian-Tian Zhou, Bing Wu, Chao Deng, Ying Gao Apr 2018

Preparation And Properties Of Manganese Oxide And Polyaniline-Carbon Composite Electrode, Tian-Tian Zhou, Bing Wu, Chao Deng, Ying Gao

Journal of Electrochemistry

The polyaniline-carbon (PAnC) electrode was prepared by the polymerization of aniline monomer and activated carbon in ice water bath, and followed by chemical deposition of manganese dioxide MnO2-PAnC composite material. The specific capacitance of MnO2-PAnC reached 459 F•g-1. The cyclic voltammetric results showed a small deformation in the voltammogram curve obtained with the MnO2-PAnC electrode at high scan rate, indicating good reversibility and capacitive properties. The AC impedance results revealed that the MnO2-PAnC electrode displayed the smallest charge transfer resistance and the fastest diffusion
rate of surface ions than other …
