The low service lifetime of proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) is the main bottleneck for their commercial applications. One of the main factors is that the expensive metal Pt catalyst is easy to degradation under the harsh working environment of PEMFC (such as variable voltage, strong acidity, gas-liquid two-phase flow), which leads to the inevitable decay of the catalytic performance, thus, seriously restricting the lifetime of PEMFC. Electrochemical Performances Of Neodymium Doped Lead Dioxide Composite Anode, Hong-Hui Wang, Ming-Jie Ma, Jie Feng, Huang-Ya Kang, Wen-Jie Huang

Neodymium (Nd) doped titanium (Ti)-based lead dioxide (PbO2) composite anode was prepared by electrodeposition. The surface morphologies and crystal structures of the as-prepared anodes were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique, respectively. The electrochemical performances of PbO2-Nd anode were studied by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, linear sweep voltammetry and cyclic voltammetry. Additionally, the electrocatalytic activity and durability of PbO2-Nd anode were investigated through the degradation of simulative refractory organic wastewater of phenol. The silver-titanium dioxide co-modified manganese dioxide (Ag-TiO2-MnO2) cathode material was prepared through high temperature solid state reaction. The microstructure, phase composition and electrochemical performance of the prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectrometry (FT-IR), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic discharge and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Electrochemical Performance Of Moo2-C Composite Coatings, Quan-Yi Li, Qi Yang, Yan-Hong Zhao

The molybdenum dioxide-carbon(MoO2-C)composite coatings on the surface of Cu foils were prepared by simple knife coating route and followed by sintering in vacuum. The morphology, composition, structure and electrochemical performance of the MoO2-C composite coatings were investigated. The results demonstrated that the MoO2-C composite coatings consist of MoO2 nano-particles with monoclinic crystal structure and amorphous carbon. Some MoO2 nano-particles with a size range of 5-30nm were loaded on the surface of carbon matrices; while some MoO2 nano-particles with a size of ~5nm were encapsulated inside.
