Analysis Of Alternative Manufacturing Processes For Lightweight Biw Designs, Using Analytical Hierarchy Process, Srinath Vijayakumar Dec 2010

Analysis Of Alternative Manufacturing Processes For Lightweight Biw Designs, Using Analytical Hierarchy Process, Srinath Vijayakumar

All Theses

The main objective of the analysis was to investigate the forming of Body in White (BIW) panels using alternative processes most suitable for replacing the conventional press working process in order to achieve a reduction in the total mass of the vehicle body structure. The selection of the alternatives was guided by multi criteria decision making tool, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Here the alternatives were selected based on their relative importance to the different manufacturing attributes considered. The selected processes were applied to the manufacturing of different parts of BIW indicated in the BOM along with suggestion of the …

Comparison Of Classical Analytic Hierarchy Process (Ahp) Approach And Fuzzy Ahp Approach In Multiple-Criteria Decision Making For Commercial Vehicle Information Systems And Networks (Cvisn) Project, Liyuan Zhang Nov 2010

Comparison Of Classical Analytic Hierarchy Process (Ahp) Approach And Fuzzy Ahp Approach In Multiple-Criteria Decision Making For Commercial Vehicle Information Systems And Networks (Cvisn) Project, Liyuan Zhang

Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering: Dissertations, Theses, and Student Research

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has emerged as an important technology with many possible applications in a wide variety of fields. It is said that RFID can perform well in transportation system. Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (NEDMV) is using this technique to perform an analysis on utilizing RFID license plates to assist with Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVISN) program with the cooperation of many other stakeholders. Previous House of Quality (HOQ) analysis evaluates stakeholders’ needs and provides the pairwise comparison values of six important technical requirements for each stakeholder. Based on these, this research aims to seek for …

Maintenance Algorithm And Management System Of Sidewalk Facility, Lee-Kuo Lin, Chen-You Jian Oct 2010

Maintenance Algorithm And Management System Of Sidewalk Facility, Lee-Kuo Lin, Chen-You Jian

Journal of Marine Science and Technology

Sidewalk is one kind of infrastructure systems in each city, because every sidewalk facility is used by pedestrians, so the maintenance algorithm should be evaluated and worked with users’ role. To echo this reasonable concept, this research investigates several using influence factors, which were collected and evaluated from pedestrians. For statistical analysis, scientific tools including Delphi method, analytic hierarchy process (AHP), and fuzzy theory were used to analyze and establish a preliminary evaluation model of sidewalk maintenance system. In order to use this model pragmatically, this research also establishes a portable prototype system at PDA hardware. With this portable system, …

Developing A Decision-Making Framework For Web Service Security Profiles: A Design-Science Paradigm, Mutaz M. Al-Debei, Bachar Alrouh, Gheorghita Ghinea Jan 2010

Developing A Decision-Making Framework For Web Service Security Profiles: A Design-Science Paradigm, Mutaz M. Al-Debei, Bachar Alrouh, Gheorghita Ghinea

Dr. Mutaz M. Al-Debei

In this paper, we provide a novel analytical hierarchy process decision-making framework for Web service security profiles. This framework aids in solving the dilemma of which Web service security profile is most fitting in a particular situation. This is because the developed framework allows architects and developers to take informed decisions following a systematic and manageable approach. In developing the framework, we followed the design-science research paradigm within which we incorporated a number of laboratory experiments.

Fusion Of Sources Of Evidence With Different Importances And Reliabilities, Florentin Smarandache, Jean Dezert, J.M. Tacnet Jan 2010

Fusion Of Sources Of Evidence With Different Importances And Reliabilities, Florentin Smarandache, Jean Dezert, J.M. Tacnet

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

This paper presents a new approach for combining sources of evidences with different importances and reliabilities. Usually, the combination of sources of evidences with different reliabilities is done by the classical Shafer’s discounting approach. Therefore, to consider unequal importances of sources, if any, a similar reliability discounting process is generally used, making no difference between the notion of importance and reliability. In fact, in multicriteria decision context, these notions should be clearly distinguished. This paper shows how this can be done and we provide simple examples to show the differences between both solutions for managing importances and reliabilities of sources. …
