Design And Optimization Of A High Power Density Silicon Carbide Traction Inverter, Tyler Adamson
Design And Optimization Of A High Power Density Silicon Carbide Traction Inverter, Tyler Adamson
Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This project was initiated with the goal of demonstrating a 3-phase silicon carbide based 150-kW 25 kW/L DC-AC power conversion unit capable of operation with coolant temperatures up to 90°C. The project goals were met and exceeded by first analyzing the established inverter topologies to find which one would yield the highest power density while still meeting electrical performance needs in the 150-kW range. Following topology selection, the smallest silicon carbide power module that met the electrical requirements of the system was found through experimental testing and simulation. After a power module selection was finalized, a DC link capacitor bank …
Power Conditioning System On A Micro-Grid System, Tamoghna Banerjee
Power Conditioning System On A Micro-Grid System, Tamoghna Banerjee
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
This paper presents renewable energy, power electronics, and distributed generators. The focus is on wind farm generator, photovoltaic cell, and battery bank system. Power Conditioning system improves the performance of a power system. Apart from the benefits of converting between DC/AC, there is adequate control of real power and additional control of economic reactive power. This is possible because of multiple sources in the system.
This project throws light on the basic principle of power system conditioning, its operation and control, and the economic studies.
Highly Efficient Gan-Based Single-Phase Transformer-Less Pv Grid-Tied Inverter, Khaled Alatawi
Highly Efficient Gan-Based Single-Phase Transformer-Less Pv Grid-Tied Inverter, Khaled Alatawi
Electronic Theses and Dissertations
Growing energy demand and environmental concerns have led to an increased interest in renewable energy resources to provide a sustainable and low carbon emission energy supply. Among these renewable energy resources, photovoltaic (PV) systems have been the focus of many scientific researchers. The most vital component of a PV system that needs to be improved is the power converter. Grid-tied transformer-less inverters have gained a lot of interest in recent years because of their higher efficiency, reduced volume and lower cost compared to traditional line transformer inverters.
This dissertation discusses single-phase transformer-less inverter challenges and provides solutions that could lead …
