Comprehensive Neural Network Forecasting System For Ground Level Ozone In Multiple Regions, Gautam Raghavendra Eapi Dec 2015

Comprehensive Neural Network Forecasting System For Ground Level Ozone In Multiple Regions, Gautam Raghavendra Eapi

Civil Engineering Dissertations

A comprehensive neural network daily maximum 8 hour-ozone forecasting model was developed based on five years of data (2010-2014) collected from 50 monitoring sites from the Dallas Fort Worth, Houston-Galveston-Brazoria, Los Angeles, San Joaquin and San Diego regions. This work represents the first neural network developed to forecast ozone in multiple regions, as well as multiple sites in the same region. Previous studies have developed separate neural network models to forecast ozone at each location. Two stages of feature selection were applied to reduce input vector dimension and redundancy. These are Piecewise Linear Orthonormal Floating Search (PLOFS), and Karhunen - …

A Study On Evaporative Cooling For Data Centers & Artificial Neural Network Modeling, Pritam Karmokar Dec 2015

A Study On Evaporative Cooling For Data Centers & Artificial Neural Network Modeling, Pritam Karmokar

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Theses

This study mainly aims at exploring how, one of the best “Green” solutions for IT equipment cooling aka Evaporative Cooling, can be optimized for better future deployment. Also, this study focuses on ways to deploy Artificial Neural Network models to Dynamic Systems. Today, SERVERS are one of most important devices that our technology driven world cannot do without. Efficiently cooling these delicate yet highly power dense beasts, while being environment friendly is one of our prime concerns. This study is a combination of two deceptively divergent works. First, on exploring the workings of this technique by investigating one such Evaporative …

Neural Network Modeling And Control Of Data Center, Nachiket Rajendra Kansara Dec 2015

Neural Network Modeling And Control Of Data Center, Nachiket Rajendra Kansara

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Theses

Data Center has become a definitive element of Modern IT infrastructure. With the development of high performance computing architectures and equipment, data centers consume large amount of electricity. Due to low Demand/Supply ratio of electricity production there is need to develop ways to reduce power footprint. Many researchers are working on approaches to resolve problems related to en- ergy usage of Data Center. One of these approaches is to develop a model-based control system that would control data centers in efficient way to reduce power footprint. Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) has been used to model the dynamic and complex environment …

Designing Eye Tracking Algorithm For Partner-Assisted Eye Scanning Keyboard For Physically Challenged People, Zeenat S. Al-Kassim Dec 2015

Designing Eye Tracking Algorithm For Partner-Assisted Eye Scanning Keyboard For Physically Challenged People, Zeenat S. Al-Kassim

Theses

The proposed research work focuses on building a keyboard through designing an algorithm for eye movement detection using the partner-assisted scanning technique. The study covers all stages of gesture recognition, from data acquisition to eye detection and tracking, and finally classification. With the presence of many techniques to implement the gesture recognition stages, the main objective of this research work is implementing the simple and less expensive technique that produces the best possible results with a high level of accuracy. The results, finally, are compared with similar works done recently to prove the efficiency in implementation of the proposed algorithm. …
