Analysis Effect Of Audit Information Technology : Green Technology, Smart System And Innovation Behavior Working For Improving Business Services University In Indonesia, Merlin Apriliyanti, Ilham M, Tanti Handriana, Indrianawati Usman

Library Philosophy and Practice (e-journal)

This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness and efficiency of the use of technology and integrated information systems and recommend the development of new systems at PTKIN (UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang). The study of information technology management in tertiary institutions aims to measure the extent to which the application of information technology is able to support the activities of the Tri Dharma College in order to achieve world class universities. In measuring the results of the audit of information technology management the tertiary institution will conduct evaluation, monitoring and further development of information …

System, Device, And Method For Determination Of Intraocular Pressure, Jeffrey Todd Hastings, E. Britt Brockman, Ingrid L. St. Omer, John C. Wright Jun 2020

System, Device, And Method For Determination Of Intraocular Pressure, Jeffrey Todd Hastings, E. Britt Brockman, Ingrid L. St. Omer, John C. Wright

Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty Patents

A system for determination of intraocular pressure includes: an intraocular pressure sensor; a light source illuminating the sensor with one or more wavelengths of light; and a detector that measures emitted light from the sensor. The sensor includes a substrate member, a spacer member, and a flexible membrane, which define a sealed cavity. The flexible membrane moves in response to intraocular pressure changes. A device for measuring intraocular pressure includes: the sensor; an anchoring member attached to the sensor for immobilizing the sensor in an eye; and a protective member attached to the anchoring member and covering the sensor to …

Applying Facets Of Work As A Source Of Knowledge And Insight For Requirements Determination, Steven Alter Jan 2020

Applying Facets Of Work As A Source Of Knowledge And Insight For Requirements Determination, Steven Alter

Business Analytics and Information Systems

This conceptual contribution explains how the idea of “facets of work” can bring more knowledge and richer, more evocative ideas to the development of system requirements in organizational settings. Focusing on facets of work potentially provides useful guidance without requiring unnecessary details, precision, and notation. A background section summarizes how the current research emerged from partial overlaps between separate research efforts. Table 1 identifies 18 facets of work. Five other tables look at a subset of the facets to illustrate concepts associated with specific facets, common success factors and tradeoffs, sub-facets and other topics. Use of the same subset of …

A Blockchain Based System For Safe Vaccine Supply And Supervision, Binbin Yong, Jun Shen, Xin Liu, Fucun Li, Huaming Chen, Qingguo Zhou Jan 2020

A Blockchain Based System For Safe Vaccine Supply And Supervision, Binbin Yong, Jun Shen, Xin Liu, Fucun Li, Huaming Chen, Qingguo Zhou

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

Immunization is an indispensable mechanism for preventing infectious diseases in modern society, and vaccine safety is closely related to public health and national security. However, issues such as vaccine expiration and vaccine record fraud are still widespread in vaccine supply chains. Therefore, an effective management system for the supervision of vaccine supply chains is urgently required. As the next generation of core technology after the Internet, blockchain is designed to build trust mechanisms that can change current information management methods. Meanwhile, the development of machine learning technologies provides additional ways to analyze the data in information management systems. The main …

Coupled Modelling And Advanced Control For Smooth Operation Of A Grid Connected Linear Electric Generator Based Wave-To-Wire System, Safdar Rasool, Md Rabiul Islam, Kashem M. Muttaqi, Danny Sutanto Jan 2020

Coupled Modelling And Advanced Control For Smooth Operation Of A Grid Connected Linear Electric Generator Based Wave-To-Wire System, Safdar Rasool, Md Rabiul Islam, Kashem M. Muttaqi, Danny Sutanto

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

The perpetual oscillations of ocean waves produce potential energy, which can be converted to electrical energy with the help of direct drive linear generators. The fluctuating generated power poses a major challenge when it is supplied to the power grid. In this paper, a supercapacitor provides the short-term energy storage to buffer and smooth out the power fluctuations. A new coupled model of a wave energy converter and a linear generator is proposed for its response characterization under varying system conditions. The developed model and an advanced control strategy is used to exhibit a smooth and stable operation of the …

Attention-Based High-Order Feature Interactions To Enhance The Recommender System For Web-Based Knowledge-Sharing Servic, Jiayin Lin, Geng Sun, Jun Shen, Tingru Cui, David Pritchard, Dongming Xu, Li Li, Wei Wei, Ghassan Beydoun, Shiping Chen Jan 2020

Attention-Based High-Order Feature Interactions To Enhance The Recommender System For Web-Based Knowledge-Sharing Servic, Jiayin Lin, Geng Sun, Jun Shen, Tingru Cui, David Pritchard, Dongming Xu, Li Li, Wei Wei, Ghassan Beydoun, Shiping Chen

Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences - Papers: Part B

Providing personalized online learning services has become a hot research topic. Online knowledge-sharing services represents a popular approach to enable learners to use fragmented spare time. User asks and answers questions in the platform, and the platform also recommends relevant questions to users based on their learning interested and context. However, in the big data era, information overload is a challenge, as both online learners and learning resources are embedded in data rich environment. Offering such web services requires an intelligent recommender system to automatically filter out irrelevant information, mine underling user preference, and distil latent information. Such a recommender …

Seismic Response Mitigation Of Base-Isolated Buildings, Mohammad Hamayoun Stanikzai, Said Elias, Rajesh Rupakhety Jan 2020

Seismic Response Mitigation Of Base-Isolated Buildings, Mohammad Hamayoun Stanikzai, Said Elias, Rajesh Rupakhety

Civil & Environmental Engineering Faculty Publications

Earthquake response mitigation of a base-isolated (BI) building equipped with (i) a single tuned mass damper at the top of the building, (ii) multiple tuned mass dampers (MTMDs) at the top of the building, and (iii) MTMDs distributed on different floors of the building (d-MTMDs) is studied. The shear-type buildings are modeled by considering only one lateral degree of freedom (DOF) at the floor level. Numerical approach of Newmark's integration is adopted for solving the coupled, governing differential equations of motion of 5- and 10-story BI buildings with and without TMD schemes. A set of 40 earthquake ground motions, scaled …
