Poly(Ethylene Oxide) Based Polymer Electrolytes For All-Solid-State Li-S Batteries, Xue Li, Zheng-Liang Gong Jun 2020

Poly(Ethylene Oxide) Based Polymer Electrolytes For All-Solid-State Li-S Batteries, Xue Li, Zheng-Liang Gong

Journal of Electrochemistry

In recent years, research on lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries has received much attention because the sulfur positive electrode and the lithium metal negative electrode produce a high theoretical specific capacity (lithium metal ~ 3800 mAh·g-1, sulfur ~ 1675 mAh·g-1). In addition, sulfur is considered to be the most promising cathode material for secondary lithium batteries, due to its advantages of low price and environmental friendly. However, the practical application of conventional liquid Li-S batteries is still obstructed by several critical issues, such as lithium ploysulfides shuttle effect, long-term stability of lithium metal anode with organic liquid electrolytes, and the safety concerns …

A New Cell Structure For Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell, Ming Han, Hongfeng Xu, Baolian Yi Feb 1999

A New Cell Structure For Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell, Ming Han, Hongfeng Xu, Baolian Yi

Journal of Electrochemistry

Separating the functions of current collection and gas flow distribution and then to design two separate elements to achieve the desired performance characteristics,a nonconventional cell structure for proton exchange membrane fuel cells bave been developed. The current collector is achieved using a thin stain steel sheet, the gas flow distribution is achieved using a carbon paper that has the desired chemical durabiliy when in contact with the proton exchange membrane. Combining these two separate elements into a single divice yields a bifunctional device that performs as a bipolar separator plate. The advantages of this alternative appproach to making biplar plates are that …

Study On The Ionic Conductivity Of Comb Polymer Electrolytes, Liming Ding

Journal of Electrochemistry

A comb polymer(CP350)with oligo-oxyethylene side chains was prepared from methyl vinyl ether/maleic anhydride copolymer. The ionic conductivity of CP350/LiAsF6 and CP350/LiPF6 complexes was studied as a function of temperature and[Li]/[EO]ratios.A equivalent circuit was given to interpret complex impedance spectra. At 25℃,the ionic conductivity maxima of the two systems are 1.38×10(-4),8.32×10(-5)S/cm respectively. The appearance of the conductivity maxima has been interpreted as being due to the effect of microviscosity on ion transport. lonic conduction displays non-Arrhenius behaviour. The temperature dependence of ionic conductivity was attributed mainly to the temperature dependence of charge carrier hopping, ion pairing and micro Brown motion of side chains. The larger …
