Modeling And Optimization Algorithm For Sic-Based Three-Phase Motor Drive System, Ren Ren Aug 2020

Modeling And Optimization Algorithm For Sic-Based Three-Phase Motor Drive System, Ren Ren

Doctoral Dissertations

More electric aircraft (MEA) and electrified aircraft propulsion (EAP) becomes the important topics in the area of transportation electrifications, expecting remarkable environmental and economic benefits. However, they bring the urgent challenges for the power electronics design since the new power architecture in the electrified aircraft requires many benchmark designs and comparisons. Also, a large number of power electronics converter designs with different specifications and system-level configurations need to be conducted in MEA and EAP, which demands huge design efforts and costs. Moreover, the long debugging and testing process increases the time to market because of gaps between the paper design …

Development Of A Modeling Algorithm To Predict Lean Implementation Success, Richard Charles Barclay Jan 2020

Development Of A Modeling Algorithm To Predict Lean Implementation Success, Richard Charles Barclay

Doctoral Dissertations

”Lean has become a common term and goal in organizations throughout the world. The approach of eliminating waste and continuous improvement may seem simple on the surface but can be more complex when it comes to implementation. Some firms implement lean with great success, getting complete organizational buy-in and realizing the efficiencies foundational to lean. Other organizations struggle to implement lean. Never able to get the buy-in or traction needed to really institute the sort of cultural change that is often needed to implement change. It would be beneficial to have a tool that organizations could use to assess their …

Modeling A Nuclear Research Reactor And Radiation Dose Estimation In An Accident Scenario, Abdulaleem Abdulmajeed Bugis Jan 2020

Modeling A Nuclear Research Reactor And Radiation Dose Estimation In An Accident Scenario, Abdulaleem Abdulmajeed Bugis

Doctoral Dissertations

“A detailed, flexible three-dimensional (3D) model of the Missouri S&T Reactor (MSTR) with a heterogeneous core geometry was developed using the Standardized Computer Analyses for Licensing Evaluation (SCALE). A Graphical User Interface (GUI) was developed for SCALE, which allows the user to generate an input file automatically. The SCALE model was validated with a Monte Carlo N-Particle Transport (MCNP) model of the MSTR. The validation process was based on the criticality calculations using the Criticality Safety Analysis Sequence (CSAS6). Three geometrical models were examined. The SCALE model that has the full detailed geometry showed a good agreement with the MCNP …
