Linear And Nonlinear Control Of Unmanned Rotorcraft, Ioannis A. Raptis
Linear And Nonlinear Control Of Unmanned Rotorcraft, Ioannis A. Raptis
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The main characteristic attribute of the rotorcraft is the use of rotary wings to produce the thrust force necessary for motion. Therefore, rotorcraft have an advantage relative to fixed wing aircraft because they do not require any relative velocity to produce aerodynamic forces. Rotorcraft have been used in a wide range of missions of civilian and military applications. Particular interest has been concentrated in applications related to search and rescue in environments that impose restrictions to human presence and interference.
The main representative of the rotorcraft family is the helicopter. Small scale helicopters retain all the flight characteristics and physical …
Pegylation Of Niosomes, John A. Elliott
Pegylation Of Niosomes, John A. Elliott
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The research presented in this dissertation describes the creation and characterization of a novel antibody-vesicle conjugate modified with polyethylene glycol (PEG) that possesses enhanced binding to and uptake by inflammation-activated endothelial cells with improved storage stability and longer shelf-life and potential reduction in immunogenic potential compared to previous designs.
Targeted drug delivery provides an effective means of delivering therapeutic concentrations of a drug to the site or organ of action. The drug is delivered using a niosome, a vesicle with an aqueous core and a bilayer membrane composed of non-ionic surfactants and cholesterol. Antibodies that recognize specific cell antigens are …
Motion Analysis Of Fluid Flow In A Spinning Disk Reactor, Valentina N. Korzhova
Motion Analysis Of Fluid Flow In A Spinning Disk Reactor, Valentina N. Korzhova
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The flow of a liquid film over a rapidly rotating horizontal disk has numerous industrial applications including pharmaceuticals, chemical engineering, bioengineering, etc. The analysis and control of complex fluid flows over a rapidly rotating horizontal disk is an important issue in the experimental fluid mechanics. The spinning disk reactor exploits the benefits of centrifugal force, which produces thin highly sheared films due to radial acceleration. The hydrodynamics of the film results in excellent fluid mixing and high heat or mass transfer rates.
This work focuses on developing a novel approach for fluid flow tracking and analysis. Specifically, the developed algorithm …
Smart Grid Reliability Assessment Under Variable Weather Conditions, Arif Islam
Smart Grid Reliability Assessment Under Variable Weather Conditions, Arif Islam
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
The needs of contemporary electric utility customers and expectations regarding energy supply require dramatic changes in the way energy is transmitted and delivered. A smart grid is a concept by which the existing and aging electrical grid infrastructure is being upgraded with integration of multiple applications and technologies; such as two way power transfer, two way communication, renewable distributed generation, automated sensors, automated & advanced controls, central control, forecasting system and microgrids. This enables the grid to be more secure, reliable, efficient, self-healing, while reducing greenhouse gases. In addition, it will provide new products & services and fully optimize asset …
Advanced Transceiver Algorithms For Ofdm(A) Systems, Hisham A. Mahmoud
Advanced Transceiver Algorithms For Ofdm(A) Systems, Hisham A. Mahmoud
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
With the increasing advancements in the digital technology, future wireless systems are promising to support higher data rates, higher mobile speeds, and wider coverage areas, among other features. While further technological developments allow systems to support higher computational complexity, lower power consumption, and employ larger memory units, other resources remain limited. One such resource, which is of great importance to wireless systems, is the available spectrum for radio communications. To be able to support high data rate wireless applications, there is a need for larger bandwidths in the spectrum. Since the spectrum cannot be expanded, studies have been concerned with …
