The Importance Of Managerial Positions In The Agile Development Process, Adam Gray
The Importance Of Managerial Positions In The Agile Development Process, Adam Gray
Honors Theses
In software engineering, the Agile development process is becoming one of the most effective methods to handle the issues of continuous change and fast development. However, there are still some perceived issues that many Agile developers face, and a lot of these issues can seemingly stem from their managers. For example, it may seem like the manager is not always up-to-date on the various aspects of the project, or that they have closed off their mind to new ideas. In this paper, we include an in-depth analysis of the various managerial positions that can be found in the Agile development …
Effective Gamification Within Educational Virtual Reality Environments, Adrian Pilkington
Effective Gamification Within Educational Virtual Reality Environments, Adrian Pilkington
Honors Theses
With the advent and now widespread use of mobile phones and computers in educational settings, exploring effective and new ways of using technology in the classroom is important for educating the next generation of students. Innovative technology, like Virtual Reality, has started being discussed and researched for its potential benefits in educational settings. This paper presents a brief history of VR, game theory, and examines two VR educational games from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Nursing’s (UNMC) Senior Design teams. The two games will be used to replace lecture-style classes and to go out and educate the community. We …
Unconventional Agriculture: An Exploration Of Hydroponics And Aquaponics And Their Role As A Solution To Food Scarcity, Kai Meacham
Honors Theses
Unconventional agriculture includes methods of farming that are defined by unique farming practices and a focus on sustainability. Unconventional agriculture can take many forms, including hydroponic systems and aquaponic systems. These two systems are unique in the sense that they are soilless methods of growing plants. Both of these systems require careful monitoring because they do not have soil to act as a buffer and help maintain normal levels. Though these two systems are very similar they have some key differences in how they function, which ultimately leads to differing advantages and disadvantages of both systems. Additionally, these systems have …
Two-Dimensional & Three-Dimensional Microarray Cell Culture Using Elastomeric Assembly Substrates, Angel Olivera-Torres
Two-Dimensional & Three-Dimensional Microarray Cell Culture Using Elastomeric Assembly Substrates, Angel Olivera-Torres
Honors Theses
Tissue engineering and regenerative medicine represent the collection of all engineering disciplines brought together for the common goal of developing novel ways of growing tissues and organs in the laboratory. Efforts have made it possible to replicate or induce growth of 2D structures in the human body like skin, but the clinical need for on-demand solid organs has yet to be met due to lack of understanding of the variables responsible for organogenesis. Cell-colony heterogeneity, 3D-cellular architecture, bioactive molecules, and crosstalk communication between parenchymal cell populations need to be further investigated, and high-throughput technologies can rapidly increase the rate at …
