Sorption-Enhanced Steam Reforming Of Hydrocarbons With Autothermal Sorbent Regeneration In A Moving Heat Wave Of Catalytic Combustion Reaction, Andrey N. Zagoruiko, Alexey G. Okunev
Andrey N Zagoruiko
Novel technological concept of sorption-enhanced hydrocarbon steam reforming with autothermal regeneration of the carbon dioxide scavenger in the moving super-adiabatic heat wave of the exothermic catalytic combustion reaction performed directly inside the adsorption-catalytic bed is presented. Process modelling results, confirming the capability and high efficiency of the proposed technological approach, are discussed. It is shown that proposed approach opens the way for creation of cheap, reliable and energy-saving adiabatic packed bed methane processors of unlimited processing capacity.

Numerical Simulation Of The Filling And Curing Stages In Reaction Injection Moulding, Using Ansys Cfx, Rui Igreja

Commonly used methods for injection moulding simulation involve a considerable number of simplifications, leading to a significant reduction of the computational effort but, in some cases also to limitations. In this work, Reaction Injection Moulding (RIM) simulations are performed with a minimum of simplifications, by using the general purpose CFD software package Ansys CFX, designed for numerical simulation of fluid flow and heat and mass transfer. The Ansys CFX’s homogeneous multiphase flow model, which is generally considered to be the appropriate choice for modelling free surface flows where the phases are completely stratified and the interface is well defined, is …

Waste incineration causes unavoidable pollutant emissions to atmosphere and thus negative impact on air quality, but scale of the influence is often exaggerated. In the paper computation results of the atmospheric dispersion of pollutants were presented for one of the largest industrial and hazardous waste incineration plant existing in Poland (processing capacity: 3 ton per hour). These results confirm the fact that the incinerator meets the requirements of best available techniques (BAT) for the waste incineration and its impact on air quality is relatively small. This effect is caused mainly by proper operation of the rotary kiln incinerator, high efficiency …

Construction of the Municipal Solid Waste Incineration (MSWI) plant is considered optimal in the Programme of Management of Solid Waste in Krakow as well as in proposed scenarios of Municipal Waste Management. Evaluation of impact of the incineration plant with a capacity of 255000 tons per year on air quality in Krakow is presented in this work. The evaluation is based on assumption that air pollutant emissions from the incinerator will be at the highest allowed level resulting from emission limit values for waste incineration plants with operation time each of two planned lines 7500 hours per year. Calculation results …

Why Manage Terminology? Ten Quick Answers, Uwe Muegge

Terminology management is a hot topic these days. At the tcworld conference 2006, terminology had its own forum with hundreds of participants. And a number of highly visible institutions like the LISA Terminology Special Interest Group (SIG) has been evangelizing the development and use of standardized terminology in the business world for many years.

Terminology management enables organizations of any size to use the same terms consistently within and across the communication types that accompany a product or service. Typical communication types include specifications, drawings, GUI, software strings, help systems, technical documentation, marketing materials, regulatory submissions, etc. As multiple authors typically contribute to these communications, terminology management is the most efficient solution for ensuring that the organization speaks with one voice.

Environmental site investigations often involve the collection and analysis of hundreds of samples producing data sets that contain thousands of data points, which are difficult and time consuming to analyze. Consequently, investigators often focus on key surrogate parameters for site characterization and remedial action planning and assessment, which results in a large portion of the data collected remaining unused. This study presents the application of principal component analysis (PCA) as an efficient statistical technique to examine large environmental data sets through highlighting patterns in a reduced-variable space. In this work, PCA was applied to ground water and soil data collected …
