ECT Fact Sheets

Insituform Technologies Inc. offers a pipe lining system called Paltem which uses a woven synthetic fiber covered with a polyester elastomer as the lining material. This system is used to rehabilitate pressure pipelines that have been damaged by corrosion or are experiencing leakage through joints, pinholes or other pipe defects.

Cyonyx - Advanced Performance Pipe, Purdue Ect Team Jan 2007

Cyonyx - Advanced Performance Pipe, Purdue Ect Team

ECT Fact Sheets

A highly corrosion-resistant composite pipe able to withstand impact in high-traffic areas. While some lined steel and metal alloy pipe are capable of withstanding critical fluids and providing necessary impact resistance, the cost, weight, and limited life expectancy are prohibitive. CYONYX pipe is derived from a new technology that imparts extremely high corrosion resistance, impact resistance approaching that of steel, low material and installation costs, and life expectancy exceeding lined steel and metal alloys.

Polymer Concrete Pipes, Purdue Ect Team Jan 2007

Polymer Concrete Pipes, Purdue Ect Team

ECT Fact Sheets

Materials are needed for piping applications that have high strength and are resistant to corrosive chemicals. Polymer concrete pipes are one solution to this problem. These pipes are made by mixing a high strength, thermosetting resin with oven-dried aggregate to form a type of concrete. The resin within the mix provides for bonding the aggregate much like Portland Cement does in traditional concrete pipes.

Lokring Tube Connection, Purdue Ect Team Jan 2007

Lokring Tube Connection, Purdue Ect Team

ECT Fact Sheets

A fast and solderless system for connecting air-conditioning and refrigeration tubing of the same or different metals (aluminum, copper, steel) and between the same or different sizes. The system provides a hermetically sealed metal-to-metal connection that intrinsically safe. It can be used in areas where flammable or explosive conditions may exist.

The Pressfit Piping System, Purdue Ect Team

ECT Fact Sheets

In the piping installation industry, it is generally accepted that the tradeoff between the installation efficiency or productivity and the reliability of the installed system is very significant. The new piping installation system, called "The Pressfit System" (patented), comprises an innovative concept from Victaulic. It offers economy, speed, and reliability for joining small diameter pipes for fire protection, heating/air conditioning, process piping, plant utilities and many other services.
