"The expense of developing new circuit designs has forced electronic manufacturers to develop and use multipurpose circuits that can be adapted to fit many requirements. Sometimes this procedure leads to problems that would not have occurred if a circuit, designed to fit a particular application, had been developed. One problem of this type deals with the effect of improperly terminated coaxial cables loading output signals from a digital computer.
