Impact Of Rfid Information-Sharing Coordination Over A Supply Chain With Reverse Logistics, Juan Jose Nativi Nicolau
Impact Of Rfid Information-Sharing Coordination Over A Supply Chain With Reverse Logistics, Juan Jose Nativi Nicolau
Open Access Dissertations
Companies have adopted environmental practices such as reverse logistics over the past few decades. However, studies show that aligning partners inside the green supply chain can be a substantial problem. This lack of coordination can increase overall supply chain cost. Information technology such as Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) has the potential to enable decentralized supply chain coordinate their information. Even though there are research that address RFID on traditional supply chain, few researches address how to coordinate RFID information sharing in a green supply chain. We study, through simulation experiments, two types of RFID information-sharing coordination under different configurations related …
Tangible Interaction As An Aid For Object Navigation In 3d Modeling, Sanmathi Dangeti
Tangible Interaction As An Aid For Object Navigation In 3d Modeling, Sanmathi Dangeti
Open Access Theses
This study introduced an interaction technique that used tangible interaction for 3D modeling. A hybrid interaction technique using a Kinect camera and a smartphone with a gyroscope was developed for the navigating objects in a 3D modeling software. It was then tested on 20 participants categorized as amateurs who had basic 3D/ CAD modeling experience and 20 participants categorized as the experts who had extensive experience working with the modeling software. This research study presents the need for existence of such interaction technique, gaps from the related previous studies, statistical findings from the current study and possible reasons for the …
Using Ubiquitous Data To Improve Smartwatches' Context Awareness, Yuankun Song
Using Ubiquitous Data To Improve Smartwatches' Context Awareness, Yuankun Song
Open Access Theses
Nowadays, more and more data is being generated by various software applications, services and smart devices every second. The data contains abundant information about people’s daily lives. This research explored the possibility of improving smartwatches’ context awareness by using common ubiquitous data. The researcher developed a prototype system consisting of an Android application and a web application, and conducted an experiment where 10 participants performed several tasks with the help of a smartwatch. The result showed a significant improvement of the smartwatch’s context awareness running the prototype application, which used ubiquitous data to automatically execute proper actions according to contexts. …
Monitoring Dbms Activity To Detect Insider Threat Using Query Selectivity, Prajwal B. Hegde
Monitoring Dbms Activity To Detect Insider Threat Using Query Selectivity, Prajwal B. Hegde
Open Access Theses
The objective of the research presented in this thesis is to evaluate the importance of query selectivity for monitoring DBMS activity and detect insider threat. We propose query selectivity as an additional component to an existing anomaly detection system (ADS). We first look at the advantages of working with this particular ADS. This is followed by a discussion about some existing limitations in the anomaly detection system (ADS) and how it affects its overall performance. We look at what query selectivity is and how it can help improve upon the existing limitations of the ADS. The system is then implemented …
Assessing Impact Of Exposure To Cyberphysical Systems On Student Interest In Information Technology Careers, Mayari I. Serrano Anazco
Assessing Impact Of Exposure To Cyberphysical Systems On Student Interest In Information Technology Careers, Mayari I. Serrano Anazco
Purdue Polytechnic Masters Theses
The main purpose of this project is to determine if the use of Information Technology (IT) tools, specifically cyberphysical devices, in outreach sessions will promote interest of young individuals in pursuing IT careers. The Diversity office of Purdue’s College of Technology offers a number of outreach sessions to a variety of target populations throughout the year. Each department in the college has an opportunity to present a session related to a field of study offered by the department. The research was carried out thru the Spring 2015 semester during the DOiT and Vision outreach programs offered through the college’s Diversity …
A Nearly Autonomous, Platform-Independent Mobile App For Manure Application Records, Matthew R. Koester
A Nearly Autonomous, Platform-Independent Mobile App For Manure Application Records, Matthew R. Koester
Open Access Theses
A major part of modern manure management is accurate application records; a key to their creation and maintenance is ease. This project involved the integration of existing technologies (smartphones, Bluetooth tags) in mobile web and native Android applications (apps) which enable the autogenic creation and upkeep of manure hauling records. This approach greatly improves the efficiency of the recording process which should help to improve the management of applied nutrients. Features of the app include: computation of a suggested travel speed to ensure target nutrient application (based on desired application rate and spreading width); minimized keystrokes/screen taps to accurately capture …
