"Concrete filled fiber tubes can be used to increase ductility and strength of a concrete member and self-consolidating concrete is an ideal material to use in practical applications of concrete-filled fiber tubular columns. However, the propensity of self-consolidating concrete to autogenous shrinkage could reduce the effectiveness of the concrete confinement. This research investigates the use of self-consolidating concrete in pre-cast FRP tubes and various methods of shrinkage reduction and compensation to increase the axial performance of said self-consolidating concrete-filled fiber tubes. "This study aims to investigate a 3D printing method to directly incorporate continuous reinforcement into concrete structures. The ability to design and produce complex structures with optimized topographical configuration can be used to reduce potential material waste while maintaining the required structural strength. Furthermore, the ability to actively incorporate reinforcement into printed members substantially reduces potential labor requirements and eliminates the need to set up formwork.

"This study introduces an experimental investigation of the behavior of concrete filled fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) tubes (CFFTs) under cyclic axial compression. The FRP used in this study were either small rupture strain FRP (SRS-FRP) or large rupture strain FRP (LRS-FRP). This paper also presents the first-ever experimental study on the behavior of concrete confined using hybrid LRS-FRP and SRS-FRP. LRS-FRP included PEN (polyethylene napthalate) and PET (polyethylene terephthalate) where both of them having ultimate axial strain larger than 5%, and low stiffness. SRP-FRP included carbon and glass FRP having small rupture strains, smaller than 2%, and high stiffness. The …

"To expand on previous research concerning perforated cold-formed steel web elements, an experimental investigation was conducted to examine the influence of reinforcement on the behavior and strength of single web flexural members with web openings. In current design practice, reduction factors are applied to the strength equations to account for the debilitating effect of web openings. This reduction in capacity may lead to the selection of a greater member thickness or depth than would be required of a solid web member.
