Many organizations with an IT infrastructure consisting of a combination of hardware and software, look for ways to achieve greater efficiencies, cost-savings associated with maintenance and upkeep, ease of use, while maintaining a great level of security. The main idea behind this research paper is to better understand the decision-making process with respect to how an IT organization evaluates its needs and chooses between different computer-hosting environments, i.e.: public cloud, private cloud, hybrid – combination of public and private cloud, lastly, an in-house platform, which is hosted internal to the organization and/or via a datacenter.
