Economic Geology Of Northern Angola, Artileus Vosteen Eulich Jan 1924

Economic Geology Of Northern Angola, Artileus Vosteen Eulich

Professional Degree Theses

"Most of the mineral deposits have been known to exist for over a generation but efforts to mine them usually met with failure. The most signal discovery, that of diamonds, was made only in recent years. They are the only substance coming under the category of mineral which are being exploited on a large scale. Energetic efforts are being made to find petroleum in commercial quantities. There are still vast areas practically unexplored which if thoroughly prospected might lead to more discoveries. But traditions often die hard. Many phases of mining operations are peculiar to this District alone, and likewise engineering practice has its peculiarities"--page 1.

Accident Prevention In Cement Plants, Edward Rees Abbott

This Accident Prevention Bureau, by sending out literature, holding competitions, collecting and tabulating results of accidents collected from every cement manufacturer and affiliating with National Safety Council as the Cement Section, has made rapid strides each year, until today it is doubtful if any other branch of manufacturers can show more improvement in accident records than the cement industry. In spite of their marked improvements each year, there were 47 …
