The Reaction Velocity Of Ethylene And Iodine, Herbert Arno Roesler
The Reaction Velocity Of Ethylene And Iodine, Herbert Arno Roesler
Professional Degree Theses
"The constituents of coal or enriched water gas which give it value as a light producer are known collectively as "illuminants". They consist essentially of ethylene and propylene and in the analysis are determined by means of fuming sulphuric acid. This method of determination is very unsatisfactory as it is impossible to ascertain the relative percentages of the two gases, only the total being found. A series of experiments were made, for the purpose of finding a reagent that could be used for separating the members of the illuminating group and while thus engaged, a solution of iodine in potassium …
Copper Mining At Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Albert Hill Fay
Copper Mining At Cananea, Sonora, Mexico, Albert Hill Fay
Professional Degree Theses
"Fifty miles southwest of Bisbee, Arizona, is one of the largest copper mines in the world, - a mine which six years ago was in the throes of the prospecting, developing, and litigation periods, and now turning out over five million pounds of copper bullion per month. This property is located at Cananea, District of Arizpe, sonora, Mexico, and is owned and controlled by the cananea Consolidated Copper Co. S.A. It is situated upon the northeast slope of a short range of mountains from which the town of Cananea derives its name. The port of entry for this part of …
Analysis And Metallurgical Treatment Of Copper Ores From Ajo Basin, Arizona, Harry Carleton Chamberlain
Analysis And Metallurgical Treatment Of Copper Ores From Ajo Basin, Arizona, Harry Carleton Chamberlain
Bachelors Theses
"The purpose in mind, in writing this thesis, is to select the most economical method of treating the ores found in the Ajo Basin. The ore on the surface, and to a depth of thirty to forty feet, is almost exclusively carbonates in a silicious six gangue. Immediately underlying the carbonate ore comes the sulphide ore in its natural state, lying below any action of the elements, and is in various forms. The sulphide has been found in every shaft to its lowest depth"--page 1.
The Investigation Of The Deleterious Action Of Certain Metals On The Cyanide Process For Gold, Lamar Horacio Hunt, William Alexander Gardiner
The Investigation Of The Deleterious Action Of Certain Metals On The Cyanide Process For Gold, Lamar Horacio Hunt, William Alexander Gardiner
Bachelors Theses
"It is our desire in this thesis to try and verify, if possible, the results or conclusions published by several authorities on cyaniding regarding the deleterious action of certain metals on potassium cyanide, and also, to make experiments on several very refractory ores for the purpose of devising some economical method of treatment"--page 1.
Lead Blast Furnace Run, Ray Eugene Hoffman, John Henry Clary, Jesse Herman Steinmesch, Cecil Theodore Green, Walter Scott Grether
Lead Blast Furnace Run, Ray Eugene Hoffman, John Henry Clary, Jesse Herman Steinmesch, Cecil Theodore Green, Walter Scott Grether
Bachelors Theses
"The object of this thesis was to familiarize ourselves with the practical processes involved in a blast furnace run, and to observe the difficulties to be overcome in the operation"--page 2.
Cyanide Tests To Show Action Of Common Cyanicides, Charles L. Lintecum
Cyanide Tests To Show Action Of Common Cyanicides, Charles L. Lintecum
Bachelors Theses
"In view of the growing importance of the cyanide process and in that it seems destined to take an important place in the metallurgical treatment of gold and silver ores, the following tests have been taken as a thesis: It was intended at the onset to deal with varied ores and corroborate or establish any relation existing between such cyanicides as Cu, Bi, Sb, Mn, As, Fe, S and Te and the amount of cyanide consumed. This object however, was not fully realized owing to the fact that a large amount of work was done on ores No's. 1, 2, …
Treatment Of A Complex Arizona Gold And Silver Ore, Edgar George Ross Manwaring, Clifford Redman Wilfley
Treatment Of A Complex Arizona Gold And Silver Ore, Edgar George Ross Manwaring, Clifford Redman Wilfley
Bachelors Theses
"The object of this thesis is to work out a commercially successful treatment of an Arizona Gold and Silver Ore"--page 1.
A Study Of Kentucky Fluorite, William Corsey Nesbitt
A Study Of Kentucky Fluorite, William Corsey Nesbitt
Bachelors Theses
"The Kentucky fluor-spar district, embracing Crittenden, Livingston and Caldwell counties in western Kentucky, is the only section in America, with the exception of southern Illinois, where fluor-spar is mined, ground, and shipped in quantity. The fluor-spar is also associated with rich surprises in zinc and lead ores. Before proceeding to a study of the district in question, it may be well to give a brief description of the mineral itself"--page 1.
Laboratory Tests And Design Of Plant For Treatment Of Gold Ore, William Charles Wyman, Julian Insco Prugh
Laboratory Tests And Design Of Plant For Treatment Of Gold Ore, William Charles Wyman, Julian Insco Prugh
Bachelors Theses
"The object of this work was to determine methods and design plants best adapted for the estraction sic of gold from a given ore in the most profitable manner. In the following sheets are given in detail the work carried out and our conclusions as to the best method of treating this particular ore"--page ii.
An Investigation Of The Chemical And Metallurgical Treatment Of A Cobalt And Nickel Ore, James Watts Caples
An Investigation Of The Chemical And Metallurgical Treatment Of A Cobalt And Nickel Ore, James Watts Caples
Bachelors Theses
"The ore, coming from a district located one hundred and fifteen miles from the nearest railroad point, in a mountainous country, barren of coal, and where freight rates were enormous; demanded a method of treatment not now in general use upon this class of ores, and one that would require as little freight haulage either way, as possible. With these object in view, the following work was done, after reading all the data obtainable upon the subject as found in the school library"--Introductory, page 1.
Utilization Of The Water Of The Verde River For Power Purposes, Raphael Curier Alexander
Utilization Of The Water Of The Verde River For Power Purposes, Raphael Curier Alexander
Professional Degree Theses
"It is proposed to utilize the water of the Verde River for power purposes by constructing a power plant on the said river, and transforming the potential energy of the falling water into Electrical Energy, and the Electrical Energy transmitted over transmission lines to the various cities and mining camps in this vicinity where power is being used"--Proposition, page 1.

The Lignite Coal Of North Dakota, Clyde Mckeever Laizure, James Knight Christopher
The Lignite Coal Of North Dakota, Clyde Mckeever Laizure, James Knight Christopher
Bachelors Theses
"Owing to the great abundance of coal, both anthracite and bituminous, in the United States, no state need suffer for the lack of it, but to those states like North Dakota, situated in the great plains region and at great distances from such coal supplies, the price of these coals makes them almost luxuries. In the last few years however, the development of the lignite coal within the state of North Dakota has shown an abundance of fuel for many years to come, which, though at one time considered "A poor excuse for poor wood," now competes successfully with any …
