The article discusses the problem of reducing the amount of magnetite in the impregnation of copper in the slag generated after the conversion process in copper production in the furnace to reduce slag. Accordingly, a method of lowering magnetite by sulfidation has been proposed, using elemental sulfur as a local and relatively inexpensive sulfiding-reducing agent. The mechanism of chemical phenomena occurring in the interaction regions of magnetite and elemental sulfur has been developed.
