Composite Snowmobile Suspension Assembly, Michael Villarma May 2015

Composite Snowmobile Suspension Assembly, Michael Villarma

Mechanical Engineering and Technology Senior Projects

Snowmobile technology is constantly evolving and incorporating new ideas into products for the consumer to enjoy. After market manufactures are competing among themselves for the top position in suspension technology, yet none have broken the boundaries and really pushed to the next level, until now. The objective of this design was to provide the consumer with a lightweight and simplistic suspension system that would meet the performance demands of the consumer market. In order to meet the strength to weight ratio requirements of this design, composites were implemented to provide the necessary structural strength for the overall system. A one …

Surface Characterization Of 316l Stainless Steel For Biomedical Applications, Lawrence Cano May 2015

Surface Characterization Of 316l Stainless Steel For Biomedical Applications, Lawrence Cano

Theses and Dissertations - UTB/UTPA

Stainless steel alloys play an important role in the field of biomaterials due to their exceptional corrosion resistance and biocompatibility. These alloys have the capability to enhance the quality of a human life by altering various structures of human physiology. The close proximity these alloys have with destructive body fluids, ion dissolution is a detrimental cause from the corrosion initiative and may cause unfavorable reactions. A view on developing an improved compatible surface for the human body leads to implementation of different chemical surface modifications used for creating features that must be corrosion resistant and biologically active without changing the …

Intermixing Reactions In Electrodeposited Cu/Sn And Cu/Ni/Sn Multilayer Interconnects During Room Temperature And High Temperature Aging

Faculty of Engineering University of Malaya

Current push for miniaturization and 3D packaging makes it important to understand reactions in interconnects with ultra small volume. In order to reduce processing time and to have more homogeneous interconnects, solder can be designed in a multilayer form with components layer thickness in the sub-micron or even nanometer range. In this work, reaction kinetics in multilayer interconnects consisting stacks of Cu/Sn/Cu and Cu/Ni/Sn/Ni/Sn deposited by electrodeposition were investigated at room temperature and 150 A degrees C. The progress of the reaction in the multilayers was monitored by using XRD, SEM and EDX. Results show that by inserting a 70 …
