"The purpose of this experiment was to determine the effectiveness of a lubri-coolant directed in such a way that it impinged just below the chip at the tool-chip interface in an orthogonal cutting process. This was compared to the conventional method of flooding lubri-coolant around the tool-chip area ... The results obtained show that the forces required to cut a material were less if the lubri-coolant was directed on the tool-chip interface when larger values of feed and depth of cut were used, and that with smaller values of feed and depth of cut, the method of flooding was equal …
