"The object of this paper is to arrive at a better explanation of the segregation of magmatic solutions on cooling. In which magmas will be discussed from a chemical and metallurgical lien of reasoning, in showing why such minerals as apatite, magnetite, etc., having a comparatively low melting point, crystallize cut before feldspar and quartz, which have a comparatively high fusion point"--page 1.

"In this Thesis my object has been to ascertain the silver losses in cupellation with different kinds of cupel material, thereby determining the effeciency sic of the materials in the four kinds of cupels used.
