High Performance Distributed On-Chip Voltage Regulation For Modern Integrated Systems, Longfei Wang
High Performance Distributed On-Chip Voltage Regulation For Modern Integrated Systems, Longfei Wang
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Distributed on-chip voltage regulation where multiple voltage regulators are distributed among different locations of the chip demonstrates advantages as compared to on-chip voltage regulation utilizing a single voltage regulator. Better on-chip voltage noise performance and faster transient response can be realized due to localized voltage regulation. Despite the advantages of distributed on-chip voltage regulation, unbalanced current sharing issue can occur among each voltage regulator, which has been demonstrated to deteriorate power conversion efficiency, stability, and reliability of the power delivery network. An effective balanced current sharing scheme that can be applied to most voltage regulator types is proposed to balance …

A Comparative Study Of Signal Processing Methods For Fetal Phonocardiography Analysis, Venkata Akshay Bhargav Krishna Vadali
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
More than one million fetal deaths occur in the United States every year [1]. Monitoring the long-term heart rate variability provides a great amount of information about the fetal health condition which requires continuous monitoring of the fetal heart rate. All the existing technologies have either complex instrumentation or need a trained professional at all times or both. The existing technologies are proven to be impractical for continuous monitoring [2]. Hence, there is an increased interest towards noninvasive, continuous monitoring, and less expensive technologies like fetal phonocardiography.
Fetal Phonocardiography (FPCG) signal is obtained by placing an acoustic transducer on the …

Quantitative Measurement Of Cerebral Hemodynamics During Activation Of Auditory Cortex With Single- And Multi-Distance Near Infrared Spectroscopy, Penaz Parveen Sultana Mohammad
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Functional Near Infrared Spectroscopy (fNIRS) is a safe, low-cost, non-invasive opti-cal technique to monitor focal changes in brain activity using neurovascular coupling and measurements of local tissue oxygenation, i.e., changes in concentrations of oxygenated hemoglobin (HbO) and deoxygenated hemoglobin (HbR)[42]. This thesis utilizes two fNIRS approaches to measure hemodynamic changes associated with functional stimulation of the human auditory cortex. The first approach, single-distance continuous wave NIRS (CW-NIRS) utilizes relatively simple instrumentation and the Modified-Beer Lambert (MBL) law to estimate activation induced changes in tissue oxygenation (∆CHbO and ∆CHbR)[17]. The second more complex approach, frequency domain NIRS (FD-NIRS), employs a photon …

In this way, every active circuit and passive component can be individually optimized, so do the MEMS resonators …
Towards Utilization Of Distributed On-Chip Power Delivery Against Em Side-Channel Attacks, Ahmed Waheed Khan
Towards Utilization Of Distributed On-Chip Power Delivery Against Em Side-Channel Attacks, Ahmed Waheed Khan
USF Tampa Graduate Theses and Dissertations
Non-invasive side-channel attacks (SCAs) are potent attacks on a cryptographic circuit that can reveal its secret key without requiring lots of equipment. EM side-channel leakage is typically the derivative of the power consumption profile of a circuit. Since the fluctuations of the supply voltage strongly depend on the topology and features of the power distribution network (PDN), design of the PDN has a direct impact on EM side-channel leakage signature.
In this thesis, we explore the security implications of distributed on-chip voltage regulators against EM side-channel attacks. Extensive HFSS simulations have demonstrated that the maximum EM radiation can be reduced …
