Modeling And Control Of Three-Phase Grid-Connected Pv Inverters In The Presence Of Grid Faults, Paresh Vinubhai Patel Jan 2018

Modeling And Control Of Three-Phase Grid-Connected Pv Inverters In The Presence Of Grid Faults, Paresh Vinubhai Patel

Masters Theses

"A two-stage photovoltaic grid-connected microgrid modeling approach is presented in this work. The purpose of the modeling is the behavior study of the microgrid during the low-voltage event on the grid. A complete mathematical model is discussed for each component of the system. The MPPT of the photovoltaic system is integrated with the boost controller to inject the constant current in the DC-link. The boost converter and the inverter control is implemented using the cascaded PI control. A dual second-order generalized integrator (DSOGI) method is implemented for the sequence extraction. The inverter controller is designed to meet the grid-code requirement …

Comparative Study Of Three Types Of Inverters Based On The Output Total Harmonic Distortion, Paterrson Thomas Jan 2015

Comparative Study Of Three Types Of Inverters Based On The Output Total Harmonic Distortion, Paterrson Thomas

Masters Theses

"In this thesis, three cases of power electronic inverters are taken into consideration to analyze their performance in terms of total harmonic distortion in their output voltage and output current. Firstly, a single H-bridge inverter is simulated. Staircase switching technique is used to generate the gating pulses for the switches. Only one switch is made to toggle for every half cycle. The fundamental harmonic component of the desired output voltage is considered to be 120 V. Secondly, the same topology is used with a Bipolar PWM gating technique. The switching frequency of the carrier wave is 33*60 Hz. Thirdly, a …

Direct Torque Control Of An Lnduction Machine Using Multi-Layer Perceptron Network, Adithya Chandrashekharan Dec 2014

Direct Torque Control Of An Lnduction Machine Using Multi-Layer Perceptron Network, Adithya Chandrashekharan

Masters Theses

In conventional direct torque control (DTC) scheme of induction motor (lM), Proportional Integral Controller (PI) is used as the speed controller. PI controller is more suitable in steady state condition and for linear system but both DTC and IM are mostly nonlinear. Multi-Layer perceptron neural network. (MLPNN) controller is more suitable and performs better than PI controller. The switching table of the conventional DTC is replaced by the MLPNN controller. The MLPNN inputs are, the magnitude of the stator flux, torque and the Voltage sectors. Levenberg-Marquardt back propagation technique has been used to train the MLPNN. The output of the …
