The main objective of this thesis is to design a selected version of linear PM generator and to determine the electromechanical characteristics at variable operating conditions. To reach this objective, the linear generator with quasi-flat linear machine structure was selected and designed using the magnetic circuit theory. By applying 2-D and 3-D FEM the magnetic circuit was optimized and parameters of equivalent circuit were determined. The performance of generator operation are analyzed in steady-state and in dynamic conditions using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
