Credit Hour Analysis, Tushar Ojha, Don R. Hush, Elias S. Lopez Aug 2023

Credit Hour Analysis, Tushar Ojha, Don R. Hush, Elias S. Lopez

Electrical & Computer Engineering Technical Reports

This report presents a detailed analysis of the credit hour usage pattern of undergraduate students at the University of New Mexico (UNM) using custom analytical tools. We introduce a credit-tree framework for analyzing credit hour efficiency. This framework leverages a custom-built specialized audit tool for categorizing student credits. More specifically, student credits are assigned to one of three categories: unusable credits that do not match any degree requirement, excess credits that can be removed without changing the requirement satisfaction, and applied credits that contribute to requirement satisfaction without excess. Clearly, this enables credit analysis at the course and degree requirement …

In general, a system S (that may be a company, association, institution, society, country, etc.) is formed by sub-systems Si { or P(S), the powerset of S }, and each sub-system Si is formed by sub-sub-systems Sij { or P(P(S)) = P^2(S) } and so on.

That’s why the n-th PowerSet of a Set S { defined recursively and denoted by P^n(S) = P(P^(n-1)(S) } was introduced, to better describes the organization of people, beings, objects etc. in our real world.

The n-th PowerSet was used in defining the SuperHyperOperation, SuperHyperAxiom, and their corresponding Neutrosophic SuperHyperOperation, Neutrosophic SuperHyperAxiom in order …

Analyzing Student Credits, Don R. Hush, Elias S. Lopez, Wisam Al-Doroubi, Tushar Ojha, Brianne Santos, Kevin Warne

Electrical & Computer Engineering Technical Reports

This report describes methods for decomposing student credits into three categories: applied, unusable, and excess where applied credits count towards the student's degree requirements, unusable credits do not count towards any degree requirement, and excess credits exceed one or more degree requirement specifications. These methods enable multiple types of analysis including student progress assessment, student planning (i.e. helping the student determine the best path forward), credit efficiency analysis (i.e. quantifying the number of applied versus unusable and excess credits), transfer credit analysis (i.e. determining the utility and efficiency of transfer credits), and requirement analysis (i.e. determining the types of requirements …

تم تعريف Neutrosophic Over-/ Under- / Off-Set and -Logic

Neutrosophic Over-/Under-/Off-Set and -Logic were defined for the first time by Smarandache in 1995 and published in 2007. They are totally different from other sets/logics/probabilities. He extended the neutrosophic set respectively to Neutrosophic Overset {when some neutrosophic component is > 1}, Neutrosophic Underset {when …

The Time-To-Graduation Problem (Survival Analysis For Education Outcomes), Don R. Hush, Tushar Ojha, Wisam Al-Doroubi Mar 2021

The Time-To-Graduation Problem (Survival Analysis For Education Outcomes), Don R. Hush, Tushar Ojha, Wisam Al-Doroubi

Electrical & Computer Engineering Technical Reports

This report provides a comprehensive treatment of the time-to-graduation (TTG) problem. The goal of this problem is to make predictions about the time it takes for a student to graduate from a particular institution. We develop a complete mathematical description of the TTG problem which includes data synthesis models that reveal details of the problem that are often hidden or overlooked in the literature. This report explores two vastly different approaches to this problem, including detailed algorithmic descriptions and practical examples where specific solution methods are applied to both synthetic data and real UNM student data. The first approach is …

Determining The Duration Of R&D Processes Through Monte Carlo Simulation, Florentin Smarandache, Moga Monika, Calefariu Gavrila, Sarbu Flavius Aurelian

The research and development (R&D) processes influence the economic development of a company, because in an industry that is changing fast, firms must continually revise their projects and range of products. Therefore in order to determine the specific costs of research and development activity we have to highlight the efforts and effects of these activities and to calculate some indicators of economic efficiency. In the cost calculation process in R & D we have emphasized the identification of the components of cost and the duration of the R & D processes, as a component of the R&D cost, that is …

Advances And Applications Of Dezert-Smarandache Theory (Dsmt), Vol. 1, Florentin Smarandache, Jean Dezert

Branch Mathematics and Statistics Faculty and Staff Publications

The Dezert-Smarandache Theory (DSmT) of plausible and paradoxical reasoning is a natural extension of the classical Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST) but includes fundamental differences with the DST. DSmT allows to formally combine any types of independent sources of information represented in term of belief functions, but is mainly focused on the fusion of uncertain, highly conflicting and imprecise quantitative or qualitative sources of evidence. DSmT is able to solve complex, static or dynamic fusion problems beyond the limits of the DST framework, especially when conflicts between sources become large and when the refinement of the frame of the problem under consideration …
