Seldom before the COVID-19 pandemic have so many people simultaneously had their lifestyle drastically changed in the same way. The forced physical isolation is, ironically, a communal experience. The sickening quarantine left everyone nothing but time to confront and reconnect with themselves. Another inevitable result of corporal isolation is the predominant awakening awareness of digital existences and connections. Evoking the shared sensitivity and delicacy, studying the tectonic activity of the digital world, the project documents the endured contemplation in the upcoming resurgence.

We will be looking into emotion detection and manipulation within a body of text based off of Robert Plutchik’s basic emotions. This project encompasses building probabilistic and lexical models, full-stack web development, and dataset creation and application. We will build our models off of Latent Dirichlet Allocation—a grouping model common in natural language processing (nlp) and lexicons compiled through crowdsourcing. User testing is undergone as a means of measuring the effectiveness of our models. We discuss the application of concepts and technologies including MongoDB, REST APIs, containerization, IaaS, and web frontends.

The focus of this paper is the functionality of Android applications and the detection of functional anomalies though a basic static analysis approach. The intention of this research is analyzing applications without running them and detecting how application behavior might correlate with method call patterns. We will focus on simple free compass applications because their ostensible simplicity will make high variation in methods calls an interesting phenomenon. This project explores the use of deep convolutional neural networks in autonomous cars. Successful implementation of autonomous vehicles has many societal benefits. One of the main benefits is its potential to significantly reduce traffic accidents. In the United States, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that human error is at fault for 93% of automotive crashes. Robust driverless vehicles can prevent many of these collisions. With the growing popularity of mobile computing, as well as the increasing demand for location-based services, this paper introduces a design and implementation of a location-aware system using Beacons. This project comprises three parts: a web application, backend server and a mobile application client. The web application serves as a content management system by allowing users to manage projects, input data and create associations between Beacons and data. The backend server contains application logic and a database. The mobile application client interacts with the Beacons and provides location-specific services.
