Survey Of Ship Detection In Video Surveillance Based On Shallow Machine Learning, Zhenbo Bi, Shiyou Zhang, Yang Hua, Yuanhong Wu

Abstract: At present, detection of ship targets in video surveillance based on shallow machine learning methods is still attracting attention in the fields of underwater cultural heritage protection, marine aquaculture, maritime traffic, and port management. This paper provides a review and discussion for this kind of ship detection methods. The ship target detection based on video surveillance is divided into five parts according to the key technologies involved: preprocessing, region of interest extraction, target segmentation, ship feature extraction and ship type recognition.
