Visualization For Solving Non-Image Problems And Saliency Mapping, Divya Chandrika Kalla Jan 2021

Visualization For Solving Non-Image Problems And Saliency Mapping, Divya Chandrika Kalla

All Master's Theses

High-dimensional data play an important role in knowledge discovery and data science. Integration of visualization, visual analytics, machine learning (ML), and data mining (DM) are the key aspects of data science research for high-dimensional data. This thesis is to explore the efficiency of a new algorithm to convert non-images data into raster images by visualizing data using heatmap in the collocated paired coordinates (CPC). These images are called the CPC-R images and the algorithm that produces them is called the CPC-R algorithm. Powerful deep learning methods open an opportunity to solve non-image ML/DM problems by transforming non-image ML problems into …

Appointment Scheduling System, Guzaloi Noori Jan 2021

Appointment Scheduling System, Guzaloi Noori

Undergraduate Honors Theses

Appointment Scheduling System designed for universities so that students can schedule appointments with their university’s faculty and staff regarding academic, employment, immigration, or personal issues. The scheduling system has the ability of being embedded to the Computer Science Capstone project iAcademic, which I took part in as a front-end developer.

Dual-Axis Solar Tracker, Bryan Kennedy Jan 2020

Dual-Axis Solar Tracker, Bryan Kennedy

All Undergraduate Projects

Renewable energies, and fuels that are not fossil fuel-based, are one of the prolific topics of debate in modern society. With climate change now becoming a primary focus for scientists and innovators of today, one of the areas for the largest amount of potential and growth is that of the capturing and utilization of Solar Energy. This method involves using a mechanical system to track the progression of the sun as it traverses the sky throughout the day. A dual-axis solar tracker such as the one designed and built for this project, can follow the sun both azimuthally and in …

Automatic Chest X-Rays Analysis Using Statistical Machine Learning Strategies, Hermann Yepdjio Nkouanga Jan 2020

Automatic Chest X-Rays Analysis Using Statistical Machine Learning Strategies, Hermann Yepdjio Nkouanga

All Master's Theses

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease responsible for the deaths of more than one million people worldwide every year. Even though it is preventable and curable, it remains a major threat to humanity that needs to be taken care of. It is often diagnosed in developed countries using approaches such as sputum smear microscopy and culture methods. However, since these approaches are rather expensive, they are not commonly used in poor regions of the globe such as India, Africa, and Bangladesh. Instead, the well known and affordable chest x-ray (CXR) interpretation by radiologists is the technique employed in those places. Nevertheless, …

Image Forgery Detection With Machine Learning, Lubna Alzamil Jan 2020

Image Forgery Detection With Machine Learning, Lubna Alzamil

All Master's Theses

The issue of forged images is currently a global issue that spreads mainly via social networks. Image forgery has weakened Internet users’ confidence in digital images. In recent years, extensive research has been devoted to the development of new techniques to combat various image forgery attacks. Detecting fake images prevents counterfeit photos from being used to deceive or cause harm to others. In this thesis, we propose methods using the error level analysis algorithm to detect manipulated images. We show that our combination of image pre-processing and machine learning techniques is an efficient approach to detecting image forgery attacks.

Visual Data Mining, Syeda Sadiya Jan 2017

Visual Data Mining, Syeda Sadiya

All Graduate Projects

Occlusion is one of the major problems for interactive visual knowledge discovery and data mining in the process of finding patterns in multidimensional data. This project proposes a hybrid method that combines visual and analytical means to deal with occlusion in visual knowledge discovery called as GLC-S which uses visualization of n-D data in 2D in a set of Shifted Paired Coordinates (SPC). A set of Shifted Paired Coordinates for n-D data consists of n/2 pairs of common Cartesian coordinates that are shifted relative to each other to avoid their overlap. Each n-D point A is represented as a directed graph …

Production Of A Video Tape Recorded Supplement For Use In Teaching Electrical Tuned Circuit Theory, William A. Carlson Aug 1971

Production Of A Video Tape Recorded Supplement For Use In Teaching Electrical Tuned Circuit Theory, William A. Carlson

All Master's Theses

This paper presents a sample of the proceedures utilized to produce a video tape recorded suppliment for use in teaching electrical tuned circuit theory. It is designed so that it could be used as a ready reference for anyone desiring to make a video tape recorded teaching aid. A recomendation is that, with the advent of the simplified video tape recorder, every teacher should become as practiced in its operation and utilization as he now is with the film projector.
