A Plane Coordinate System For Bernalillo County, Karl V. Morin
A Plane Coordinate System For Bernalillo County, Karl V. Morin
Civil Engineering ETDs
The first purpose of this thesis is to frame an enabling act that could be submitted to legislature for adoption. Such an act would authorize the use of plane coordinate system, but not make it mandatory. Twenty-four states have passed laws establishing state coordinate systems.
A second purpose of this thesis is to provide practicing engineers with all the necessary information and explanatory material in one manuscript to permit them to apply the system to their work. An example is worked out in detail using local points known to local men and fully explained step by step.

A Historical Study Of Flood Prior To 1892 In The Rio Grande Watershed, New Mexico, Rufus H. Carter
Civil Engineering ETDs
The purpose of this study is twofold: first, to collect as much recorded data as possible on the floods in the Rio Grande watershed in New Mexico prior to 1892, and second, to summarize that data with particular reference to hydrologic and economic facts that appear in the record.
An Investigation Of The Water Supply Of The Laramie River Basin And Its Utilization, Omer D. Hall
An Investigation Of The Water Supply Of The Laramie River Basin And Its Utilization, Omer D. Hall
Civil Engineering ETDs
Many plans have been proposed during the last quarter century for increasing the water supply available to the Laramie River Basin. It is the purpose of this thesis to consider physically possible plans for increasing the available water and to estimate the amount of this increase. The lining of canals on the Wheatland project is suggested and studied in detail.

The main conclusions, in addition to the recommendation of certain changes and expansions of the Police Department, was that the city hire a traffic engineer to unsnarl its traffic problems. At this writing preliminary steps have been taken in both directions by the commission.
An Experimental Method Of Predicting Strength Variations In Portland Cement, James H. Sprouse Jr.
An Experimental Method Of Predicting Strength Variations In Portland Cement, James H. Sprouse Jr.
Civil Engineering ETDs
It was the purpose of this study (1) to show the variations that may be expected in the strength characteristics of different shipments of Portland cement of the same brand from the same cement mill; (2) to show the variations in the strength characteristics of different brands of cement; and (3) to develop an accelerated strength test for Portland cement upon which the strength of the concrete made from the cement could be predicted.
