A Review Of Advances In The Identification And Characterization Of Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems Using Geospatial Technologies, Isabel C. Pérez Hoyos, Nir Y. Krakauer, Reza Khanbilvardi, Roy A. Armstrong

Publications and Research

Groundwater Dependent Ecosystem (GDE) protection is increasingly being recognized as essential for the sustainable management and allocation of water resources. GDE services are crucial for human well-being and for a variety of flora and fauna. However, the conservation of GDEs is only possible if knowledge about their location and extent is available. Several studies have focused on the identification of GDEs at specific locations using ground-based measurements. However, recent progress in remote sensing technologies and their integration with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) has provided alternative ways to map GDEs at a much larger spatial extent. This paper presents a review …

Manhattan Beach Sewer Maps, Brooklyn College

Finding Aids

This collection contains eight blueprints of sewers in the Manhattan Beach section of Brooklyn. These blueprints were designed between 1979 and 1981. Major sewage lines are highlighted, as are the corresponding street and curb plans.

Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (Mepdg) Method Implemented To Estimate Damage In Flexible And Rigid Pavements, Tenzin Gusto Jan 2016

Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guide (Mepdg) Method Implemented To Estimate Damage In Flexible And Rigid Pavements, Tenzin Gusto

Dissertations and Theses

The implementation of the Empirical-Mechanistic Pavement Design Guide (MEPDG) method for flexible and rigid pavements requires numerous input parameters. Most of these parameters can be easily determined while some require best estimates that are usually extracted from available literature. This thesis identifies the most critical input parameters in terms of their effects on the damage of pavements and their influence on the determination of the number of corrective maintenance cycles to be performed during the design life of pavements. It was found that for flexible pavement, change in the average monthly temperature by as little as results in large differences …
