Globular Protein For Surface Modification Of Cellulosecontaining Materials, Nodira Saydaliyeva

Technical science and innovation

The purpose of this work is the chemical modification of cotton fabrics with natural globular protein. Modification was carried out in the process of finishing cotton fabrics, after decoction and bleaching in a continuous mode. The effect of modification on the strength, protein content and functional groups of cotton fabric has been studied. According to the results obtained using the AUTOGRAPH AGS-N machine, it was found that the modification of cotton fabrics with a solution of globular protein increases the strength of the treated fabrics, depending on the concentration of the modifier and the temperature regime. Treatment with a highly …

Understanding The Photodegradation Mechanism Of Gaseous Acetaldehyde Over Bi2wo6 – Modified Znwo4 Photocatalyst Under Uv Light Irradiation, Mirabbos Hojamberdiev, Ronald Vargas, Shahlo Daminova, Zuhra Kadirova

CHEMISTRY AND CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

Indoor air quality has a significant impact on human health as people spend more time indoors. As a common indoor air pollutant, acetaldehyde is considered toxic when exposed to it for a prolonged period. The aim of this study is the enhancement of the photocatalytic activity of ZnWO4 with a monoclinic wolframite structure for degradation of gaseous acetaldehyde by modifying its surface with Bi2WO6 layered structure. The mechanisms behind the enhanced photocatalytic activity and the pathways for acetaldehyde photodegradation over the Bi2WO6-modified ZnWO4 photocatalyst are discussed.

Paper Porosity Studies Using The Sorption Method, A Sadriddinov, Z Galimova, I Ismoilov, X Babaxanova, M Mixaleva

Technical science and innovation

One of the main properties of paper affecting the quality of reproduction is porosity, which depends on many factors, such as properties of raw materials, casting mode. From this point of view it is important to have ideas about the influence of paper composition on their porous structure and it is important to know the dependencies affecting the formation of the porous structure of paper during their manufacture. Papers based on cellulose pulp from the inner layer of mulberry bark were used as an object of study and lint cotton cellulose papers were taken for comparison. In the paper to …

Artificial Neural Networks For Measuring The Moisture Of Bulk Materials, Erkin Uljaev, Shohrux Nurali O‘G‘Li Narzullayev

Chemical Technology, Control and Management

One of the urgent tasks of industrial production is improving the quality of verification of received, manufactured, and stored products, reducing energy consumption in the production of a final product. The solution to this problem is impossible without the creation of devices that control the quality indicators of materials within the limits of the permissible error. One of the most common indicators of the quality of bulk materials is moisture. In the national economy and industrial production, it is required to determine the moisture content of more than 500 different substances and materials. The paper shows the possibility of using …

The Effect Of Curing And Zirconium Content On The Wettability And Structure Of A Silicate Hybrid Sol-Gel Material, Emma Machugh, Maikki Cullen, Alicja Kaworek, Brendan Duffy, Mohamed Oubaha

Articles

Functional hybrid sol-gel coatings have been developed for numerous applications with a wide range of wettabilities. This study proposes to investigate the relationship between the structure and the wetting properties of a zirconium modified silicate hybrid sol-gel coating. The structures of the coatings were altered by varying the content of zirconium, and the curing process, while keeping the sol-gel preparation conditions identical. The structure of the materials was characterized by FTIR, 29Si NMR and SEM. The thermal properties and the wettability are identified by DSC and contact angle measurements, respectively. By corroborating the structural and wettability analyses, it is shown …

Many employments within the graving dock can delay the process repair of main gate. The main gate may not be opened, because employees are still working to ship fabrication process under sea waterline. For accommodate these interrelated conditions, the best solution with repair one side of the main gate with type pontoon and employees can still work ship fabrication process in graving dock conducted simultaneously. The repair process conditions must be required main gate structure that consists of only one …

Computational All Atom Energy Density Landscape Mappings Of Intra-Protein Interactions From Static And Dynamic Ensemble Structure Data, Oscar H. Bastidas

Theses and Dissertations

Understanding the energetic and dynamic behavior of natural protein fluctuations is critical to elucidating important information associated with a multitude of protein functions including signaling processes, enzyme behavior, aggregation pathways etc... This information is also critically important in the development of novel and effective strategies aimed at target proteins associated with pathologies and disease. In order to obtain such useful information, tools and techniques are lacking that: 1) permit the efficient quantitative analysis of fluctuation behavior of existing protein structure ensembles and 2) permit computationally generated natural fluctuation states of proteins at relatively large timescales demanded by the need for …

Molecular Dynamics Simulation Of The Structure, Dynamics And Crystallization Of Ionic Liquids Under Confinement And Low Temperature, Xiaoxia He

LSU Doctoral Dissertations

Ionic liquids (ILs) have sparked widespread interest due to their peculiar properties and the resulting possibility of manifold applications. In this dissertation, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations have been used to elucidate the dynamics, structure and crystallization of ionic liquids in the bulk and confinement. First we studied the properties of the ILs [dmim+][Cl-] and [emim+][NTf2-] when they are confined inside nanomaterials such as CMK-3, CMK-5 and an isolated amorphous carbon nanopipe (ACNP). The results indicate that the ions of the ILs form different layers inside these nanomaterials and their dynamics are slower due to the confinement. We also found significant …

Morphology Development In Main-Chain Liquid Crystalline Polymer Fibers During Solvent Evaporation, Pratyush Dayal, Andrew Guenthner, Thein Kyu Jul 2014

Morphology Development In Main-Chain Liquid Crystalline Polymer Fibers During Solvent Evaporation, Pratyush Dayal, Andrew Guenthner, Thein Kyu

Thein Kyu

A nonequilibrium thermodynamic approach has been developed for describing the emergence of fiber morphologies from a liquid crystalline polymer solution undergoing solvent evaporation, including fibrillar structures, concentric rings, and spiral structures. We utilized Matsuyama–Kato free energy for main-chain liquid crystalline polymer (MCLCP) solutions, which is an extension of Maier–Saupe theory for nematic ordering and incorporates a chain-stiffening, combined with Flory-Huggins free energy of mixing. Temporal evolution of the concentration and nematic order parameters pertaining to the above free energy density of liquid crystalline polymer solution was simulated in the context of time-dependent Ginzburg–Landau theory coupled with the solvent evaporation rate …

Samples were characterized to determine the tensile strength, fracture elongation and Young's modulus. Structure of the samples was investigated using XRD method and thermal characteristics were analyzed using DTA/TGA technique. The results obtained for tensile strength showed a significant influence with the addition zeolite of the NR/PP blends at 2% by weight of …

The nature of the distribution of ionic groups in cesium salts of ethylene-methacrylic acid and ethylene-acrylic acid copolymers containing 2.1 to 6.3 mo!% acid was examined using the smallangle and wide-angle x-ray scattering techniques. The low-angle data containing a maximum characteristic of these materials were analyzed according to principles of small-angle scattering theory. The radial distribution functions for a typical salt and unionized copolymer were derived from the combined small- and wide-angle data. The results of these two approaches indicate the presence of ionic clusters of the ori:ler of 10-20 A in size. There is evidence that these clusters are …
