"Many studies of heat transmission have been carried out on various kinds of heat exchangers. Film coefficients have been determined and the data correlated by equations. In particular, film coefficients have been obtained for gases in turbulent flow normal to both a single cylinder and banks of staggered tubes. Very little data has been published on liquid film coefficients for flow at right angles, or normal to banks of staggered tubes...It is the purpose of this paper to present the results obtained from tests made on an originally designed heat exchanger built in the laboratory.
