An Evaluation Of Osteoporosis Prevalence In Spinal Cord Disabled Veterans, Hossein Gholizadeh Jan 2006

An Evaluation Of Osteoporosis Prevalence In Spinal Cord Disabled Veterans, Hossein Gholizadeh

Hossein Gholizadeh

DANESHVAR MEDICINE; DECEMBER 2006-JANUARY 2007; 14(66);37-44. AN EVALUATION OF OSTEOPOROSIS PREVALENCE IN SPINAL CORD DISABLED VETERANS SHOJAEI H.,SOROUSH M.R.,MODIRIAN E.,GHOLIZADEH H. Introduction: Osteoporosis and bone fracture risk due to decrease in bone mineral density is known as one of the most important complications of chronic spinal cord injuries (SCI). It also is a major health problem among the patients in SCI society. Although immobilization, old age, menopause and some comorbiditing, are major causes, other important factors also should be taken into consideration. Materials & Method: In this cross-sectional study, 132 veterans with SCI (mean of age 37.4 years), underwent dual-energy …

Application Of E-Infinity Theory To Biology, Ji-Huan He Jan 2006

Application Of E-Infinity Theory To Biology, Ji-Huan He

Ji-Huan He

Albert Einstein combined continuous space and time into his special relativity, El-Naschie discovered the transfinite discontinuity of space–time in his E-infinity theory where infinity of dimensions was created. We find a partner of both space–time and E-infinity in biology. In our theory, the number of cells in an organism endows an additional dimension in biology, leading to explanation of many complex phenomena.

Quantitative Measurement Of The Brã¶Nsted Acid Sites In Solid Acids: Toward A Single-Site Design Of Mo-Modified Zsm-5 Zeolite, Jean-Philippe Tessonnier, Benoit Louis, Stephane Walspurger, Jean Sommer, Marc-Jacques Ledoux, Cuong Pham-Huu Jan 2006

Quantitative Measurement Of The Brã¶Nsted Acid Sites In Solid Acids: Toward A Single-Site Design Of Mo-Modified Zsm-5 Zeolite, Jean-Philippe Tessonnier, Benoit Louis, Stephane Walspurger, Jean Sommer, Marc-Jacques Ledoux, Cuong Pham-Huu

Jean-Philippe Tessonnier

On the basis of our previous H/D exchange studies devoted to the quantification of the number of Bro¨nsted acid sites in solid acids, we report here an innovative approach to determine both the amount and the localization of Mo atoms inside the Mo/ZSM-5 catalyst, commonly used for the methane dehydroaromatization reaction. The influence of Mo introduction in the MFI framework was studied by means of BET, X-ray diffraction, 27Al magic angle spinning NMR, NH3 temperature-programmed desorption, and H/D isotopic exchange techniques. A dependence was found between the decrease of acidic OH groups and the Mo content. Depending on the Si/Al …
