Liberatory education facilitates identity expression, promotes empathy and understanding across difference, and builds capacity for recognizing and resisting oppressive social structures. However, many students’ educational experiences lack intentional practices that subvert societal intolerance. Without these practices, education can perpetuate social group divide without empowering students to create social change. The practice of dialogue, specifically critical intergroup dialogue, brings together participants from various social group identities in facilitated conversations in pursuit of social transformation. Lotuses Rising: Fostering Southeast Asian Community Cultural Wealth Through Arts Based Culturally Specific Programming, Rhummanee Hang

This project explores how Banteay Srei, a community organization in Oakland, California, works with young Southeast Asian American women using arts based and culturally specific programming to make visible the community cultural wealth that exists in this community. Through cooking and telling stories about their elders' refuge and resettlement experiences, the young women gain a better sense of their own history, culture, and identity. This intergenerational project allows participants to learn, feel empowered, and begin to heal. The result is a cookbook for the young women of the organization. The purpose of this research was to investigate the demand for structured
RollerSoccer Youth Programs and to examine the perceptions about this type of
Program. The market for RollerSoccer is untapped and unrepresented in the
world of sports. To date, there are no articles about the development of
RollerSoccer Youth Programs or scholarly work on marketing the emerging sport
of RollerSoccer. The RollerSoccer International Federation (RSIF), the governing
body for this fast‐paced, high scoring hybrid sport aims to expand its reach to
youth in diverse communities by developing this sports initiative.
