Traditionally, military leaders accentuate military skill development over developing the moral character of soldiers. However, researchers have made recommendations to investigate components of sportsmanship with the intent to align better with the goals of other development programs that seek to promote character. The purpose of this quantitative, correlational design study was to use a multiple linear regression on an archival data set of Character in Sport Index scores to determine if the linear combination of the variables class, age, type of sport, and gender have predictive significance for Character in Sport Index scores. Throughout my research and work in education I realized there is often a disconnect between schooling and students especially in low-income areas. It can be incredibly difficult to feel confident at school when the curriculum is not relatable to your experiences and life. Although there are several educational benefits resulting from participation in high school sports, African American students do not always experience the positive outcomes that other populations share. The purpose of this causal comparative study was to investigate the effect of athletic participation on the academic achievement of African American high school female students. The sample consisted of 100 female African American 12th-grade students. Descriptive statistics were collected and analyzed. Administrators often scrutinize extracurricular involvement in college as an unnecessary financial strain on dwindling university budgets. Student Affairs practitioners must constantly justify programs as adequate additions to the in-class learning students receive on a daily basis. The experiential education students receive through extracurricular programming is well documented, and an essential part of the college experience. No sport enjoys more popularity in the USA than football. However, not every college can fill their stadium. This study examined spectator typology and college football attendance. Four typologies emerged as well as a chronology of expectations for game events. Presented is PUNT a sport marketing strategy to increase football game attendance.

This qualitative study is comprised of indepth interviews with 16 at-risk high school students. The students were asked to give reasons for their discipline problems in high school. They were also asked to give their perspectives on various forms of popular culture. Questions regarding television, movies, music, video games, and sports were posed to determine the participants' interest level in each of the areas. The students were then asked to gauge how much these interests had taken away from their schoolwork. The students' perceptions and life experiences were explored in depth via the interview process.

Middle school students were surveyed to test two assumptions regarding fully participating versus being eliminated from sport activity and how elimination affects the choice ·of sport activity. The results showed that students would rather be participants than non-participants and that the possibility of elimination did not affect their choice of activity for most students.
