Creativity Exercises In The Field Of Entrepreneurship, Todd A. Finkle, Mark Shrader

The purpose of this article is to provide entrepreneurship educators with examples of exercises to foster creativity within their entrepreneurship programs. We discuss attributes that develop creativity as well as those that deter creativity. We also outline 10 specific exercises that instructors can use in their classrooms to stimulate creativity. The practical implications of the article will allow entrepreneurship educators to become more proficient in stimulating student creativity in today’s ever-changing environment.

The intent of this white paper is to support productive and informed conversations about the role of multidisciplinary efforts at Cal Poly. The paper provides a snapshot summary of various activities and current proposals at Cal Poly, followed by referenced discussions on the question of why promote multidisciplinary education, the problems encountered, and possible organizational models. Complex, multidimensional abilities-such as problem solving and perspective taking-can make the connection between education, work, and citizenship, which, in turn, can rekindle public trust in higher education and stimulate college/ work/community collaboration. How abilities are defined and assesseddeterniines how useful they are to educators, employers, and the public.
