Countless online ESL programs targeting adult learners have emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially since the unemployment crisis made people start thinking about self-improvement. This emergence of online education is a life-changing chance not only for the ESL education industry and teachers, but also for countless learners. This field project includes appropriate background, a review of relevant literature, and ultimately presents a free, online self-training session for novice online ESL teachers who teach adults.

The lack of a standardized education for stroke coordinators focusing on The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and requirements in preparation for the stroke program disease-specific care (DSC) certification survey every two years has led to undue added stress prior to survey. The development of tools and resources has been identified to address the current educational gap in stroke coordinator orientation. This project addressed the gap by creating an online, self-directed learning module to assist the stroke coordinators in knowledge acquisition of the stroke standards and requirements.

With more than 4.6 million people, mostly undergraduates, enrolling in at least one online course in fall of 2008, students are showing that they are comfortable with the concept of technology in education. Many students in online classes, however still have to deal with the high cost of textbooks and supplemental materials. Online technologies, however, can provide other alternatives to costly coursepacks and textbooks. Faculty and students may be able to replace or supplement coursepacks and textbooks with social bookmarking sites.
