Introduction: Assessing nutrition knowledge in four-year-olds, a developmental stage marked by limited attention spans and varying comprehension abilities, is challenging with traditional methods. A reliable test is pivotal for establishing a foundation for future health interventions. We evaluated a 13-question nutrition and healthy habits test in Pre-K4 children to assess reliability and sensitivity to detect differences.

Methods: Calculations included Cronbach's alpha, kappa coefficient, McNemar analysis by item, and Bland-Altman plots for test-retest differences. Mixed model regression assessed the questionnaire's sensitivity by sex and association with age. For this service learning project, I chose to volunteer at Timbercrest Elementary School, my community partner, in Deltona, Florida. Before selecting my service project, I did research regarding parts of my community that needed volunteers to help out. I discovered an article by SF Ed Fund named "5 Reasons to Volunteer in a School" which focused on how "underfunded and understaffed" public schools are. I volunteered approximately eight hours a week at Timbercrest, moving between different classrooms and helping out multiple teachers. A child’s development is significantly impacted by the environment in which the child lives, and the attachment styles of parents or guardians have a direct connection to the child’s attachment style. So what happens when one or more of the child’s guardians have a psychotic disorder? To answer this question, individuals will complete an assessment to determine their attachment style after providing information on whether their guardian(s) have a psychotic disorder. Irrespective of one’s walk of life or socioeconomic status, being bilingual is a valuable skill. Although English is the language of power in the United States, there are hundreds of other languages spoken in this country.

Children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD)often demonstrate behaviors that can impact their academic performance in the classroom. The use of a behavior support system may decrease the occurrence of problematic behaviors while increasing desired behaviors that will allow students with ASD to be successful in school. Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) is grounded in the theory of behavior support using incentives to motivate desired behaviors while inadvertently modifying challenging behaviors.
