Auditory surveys are common in anuran research as they can tell a lot about a species without being intensely laborious or costly. There has not been much research on training periods for those taking part in the surveys. Proper training is necessary and improper training can hinder a project and lead to skewed results. In this study, we took students from several biology 2040 classes and had them study the calls of 11 frog species in NW Ohio. From the data, we can conclude that 2 weeks of roughly 100 minutes of study time is not enough for successful results …

This study examined whether exposure to coding through a 12-week coding camp would change females’ attitudes as coders and ultimately create more interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). The participants for my study included fourth- and fifth-grade girls in a public school in a lower Midwest metropolitan area. The study was conducted in a classroom within their school during the fall of the 2023–2024 school year. This brief report outlines a risk assessment conducted at Utah State University (USU) Extension in 2023. The report provides a discussion on the need, value, and use of risk assessments. It also presents an adaptable methodological framework for conducting risk assessments in Extension and an overview of the risk assessment results. Results show the highest risk to USU Extension is related to recruitment and retention of employees, while other noteworthy risks include internal conflicts and low employee morale. This report presents the findings of a survey conducted by Queer Coalition to assess the experiences, challenges, and perceptions of the LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual) faculty, staff, and graduate students at Illinois State University (ISU). The primary objective of the survey was to gain insights into the campus climate in relation to LGBTQIA+ persons, identify areas for improvement, and promote inclusivity within the university community.

Internationally, university teacher educators are responding to the requirement that preservice teachers (PSTs) need to be confident, operational users of a broad range of technologies, and that they can apply their technological pedagogical and content knowledge (TPACK). TPACK is a framework representing the complex interactions of teachers’ technological content knowledge and technological pedagogical knowledge with their pedagogical content knowledge; the interaction of the three domains is believed to produce effective teaching with technology.
