Career Outcomes Of International Master's Recipients From Chinese Institutions: A Study Of Students From Three Asean States, Yanhao Wang

As the third largest destination country for international postsecondary students, China has received nearly 500,000 international students, and more than 20% of them are from ASEAN member states (Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, 2019). Compared to students from Western society, most ASEAN students are from developing countries and may have stronger needs to generate career benefits via studying abroad. ASEAN students in China and their career outcomes, however, have been always overlooked in existing research.

This paper maps the ethical complexities underlying the internationalization of sport management programs in Global North universities. Drawing upon postcolonial theory, critical internationalization studies, and studies of global ethics, I review the current articulations that concern the internationalization of sport management programs and highlight the limitations therein - that is, they are primarily articulated from a liberal global imaginary. In introducing the critical and decolonial ethics frameworks, I present some alternative possibilities to envision internationalization practices and policies in sport management programs. Higher education should provide learning situations that prepare students for a future profession and make them world-ready. This paper reports insights from an international interdisciplinary collaborative project aiming to create learning experiences that are close to a professional situation. The collaboration setup simulates a setting of a digital agency with a development team in Sweden and a marketing team in Australia working together to solve a task. The collaborative project has been active since 2017, completing its fifth iteration in 2021.
