People are born with antipathy for those who are different. The reason for that is “the behavioral immune system” that for years helped people to protect themselves from diseases brought with strangers (Schaller, Park, 2011). Today that instinct is expressed in “experience of disgust, for extroversion and social interaction, for xenophobia and other prejudices, and for the origins of the cultural differences” (p.99).
