Beginning May 13th, the Rangeley Road entrance to campus will be closed for construction of a new roundabout by the Maine Department of Transportation. Work will take place throughout the summer with Rangeley Road scheduled to reopen on August 30th. During this time, travelers to UMaine will need to access campus from our College Ave entrances located at Long Road, Munson Road and Sebec Road. Access to Facilities Management and UMPD will be from campus via Belgrade Road. For clarity, please click on the Roundabout Project Map link below.

Seattle, along with many other cities, is facing a housing crisis the likes of which it hasn't seen in at least half a century. A lack of affordable housing is exacerbating a homelessness crisis, and is arguably contributing to sprawl. In the face of all of this, Seattle has allowed one of the densest housing options to become economically unfeasible to build at an affordable rate.

It's a local government truism that Australian city dwellers care about only three things - rates, rubbish and parking. They want lower rates, the freedom to turf out as much trash as they like, and convenient free car parking. The arrival of dockless share bikes set these attitudes towards parking and rubbish on a collision course.
