During the field experience, the mentors and preservice teachers share personal and professional experiences on a daily basis. This process of information sharing is seen critical to the mentoring relationship development and preservice teachers’ learning to teach. This qualitative study investigates the mentor-mentee perception of the effectiveness of self-disclosure in the field experience. Data was collected from two mentor teachers and three preservice teachers through three different phases and via triangulated sources: semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and focus group interview. This research study sought to determine the impact from participation in a practicum field experience on teacher candidates’ perceived professional dispositions for effective teaching. A further intent was to describe what teacher candidates perceived to be the necessary professional dispositions for effective teaching as they reflected on their experiences in their particular preparation contexts. A mixed-methods sequential explanatory design was used to examine and understand the development of dispositions from pre-service teachers’ perspectives. This research study investigated the role that involvement in Math Camp had on the development of preservice math teachers at Bowling Green State University. The research question was, In what ways do preservice teachers perceive their development through math camp involvement and how do they plan to use this development in their future classrooms? Since 2013, there have been 134 BGSU preservice teachers that have participated in Math Camp. All of these individuals were solicited to participate in the research study.
